"Simply the best first night in a foreign country experience we've ever had. Jayne and Le Roux are the perfect people to work in hospitality and the attention to detail was unbelievably outstanding. The whole property is absolutely amazing and it's far more than just a hotel - the experiences offered from the meals to the wine tasting to the runner duck watching (has to be seen to be believed) are fantastic and they set the bar for the rest of our time in South Africa very high indeed."

"Beat all of our expectations, and they were pretty high from reading the reviews! Accommodation is brilliant and has all amenities we could wish for. Great breakfast and we tried the lunch here last day, also superb. But the by far best thing was the staff. We were made to feel super-welcome and got great recommendations for dinners, winetasting and trekking. "The staff was very friendly helpful. The room was huge, clean, quiet, wifi great, all the meals I had was tasty and well presented. I noticed that the service at the pool was very slow and it took forever to pick up the dirty dishes. I am not sure if the manager is giving enough guidance"

"Absolutely stunning place to stay. Our bedroom view was of the whole of Gordon’s bay. Superbly comfortable bed, great water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was a feast with perfectly poached eggs, sides, avocado, croissants, etc! Ate way too much!!! Add to that just how wonderfully welcoming and attentive our hosts were. More than that, they also gave excellent advice on our planned excursions. They love this area and want you to love it too! We’d stay here again in a heartbeat. "

"The other guests moving furniture upstairs late into the night - some rubber pads fixed onto the legs of the chairs to prevent them scraping on the floor could be a possible solution."

"We couldn’t operate the guest stove, no instructions were give on arrival. Secondly we needed to call the owner to show us how to operate the TV including WiFi connection."

"firstly communication was not clear because when I get the guesthouse the person who was assisting me told me that I'm supposed to be in Strand but the direction that I got was for Somerset. I was so confused but assisted me because there was a room that was free in that site. very thing is perfect very apartment is very nit and clean. "

"Basic accommodations, didnt look like the photos. Less of a hotel bit like staying in someone house. Mold around shower and ok room for a quick overnight stay. 20 min walk to restaurants though. Bed comfy. "

"We had a lovely stay at Acara. The host was a joy to converse with and very accommodating. The location was excellent and made it easy to visit many vineyards, beaches, and shopping in the surrounding area. The views of the mountains, vineyards, and horses from our cottage were also a highlight. We look forward to visiting again! "

"Only far away from city. Please note Cape town has big problem with trafic jam. Quiet and near the beach. Good if you have a car"
