This place is absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the honeymoons room.. three windows looking out to the ocean, outstanding place. Definitely will stay there again

We wanted a hotel near Big Sur. This was 40 min away. No wifi in the area so finding it in the dark was near impossible. The listing should give a mile reading on the remote road. Expedia should not consider this big sur. There should be some warnings about how difficult it is to find in the dark. Very poor markings. We drove past 20 min and had trouble finding it. Accommodation very basic.

Bed and pillows were not comfortable. The view from the property was the best part. The housekeeper smoked outside our room so we had to shut our window. There is only spotty WiFi and no TV. Getting breakfast from a plastic shed was very strange.

Very overpriced for this "lodge" which is actually a dated motel complete with traffic noise and paper-thin walls so you can hear everything your neighbors say and do. I've had better "continental breakfast" at Motel 6. The rooms are decently appointed albeit a mini fridge would be amazing as there are zero restaurants nor shops nearby. The wifi was fast. With those bloated prices per night, I would not stay here again.

Property is well kept. Room was clean and nicely decorated. Towels were soft, they seemed brand new. Choice of tea and coffee was superb. Definitely will stay here again. Oh and the view…breathtaking!

First off, when we arrived on a Monday, we found that the large front window lock was broken, and everywhere it’s printed to email and we would get a quick response, so I emailed about the missing window lock. I never heard back, and I had to look around outside for a stick that would fit in the sliding window to keep it from being opened from the outside. I finally heard back 2 days later Wednesday afternoon that they will be refunding me a small portion. I’ve attached a photo of the stick in the window. Second, the rooms door lock is an interior bathroom door lock, the kind where you just push in the little button on the handle to lock it, and there is no deadbolt on the door either. Third, the rooms have outdoor carpeting, not indoor carpeting but outdoor carpet. Fourth, they do have a true continental breakfast. Now it’s not the muffins and hardboiled egg breakfast they offer, it’s how it is offered. They call it the breakfast shed, and it is literally a small Rubbermaid plastic shed that you would keep gardening tools in it. The sign on the shed door reads “Breakfast Nook, but in print in the room they refer to it as the breakfast shed. It is very unappetizing to walk up to the breakfast shed, open the door and pull out a muffin or hardboiled egg. I’ve attached a video of the breakfast shed. Don’t expect much from the Lucia shanty.

This is just the sweetest place, nestled into a cliffside, south of Big Sur. Miles from any amenities, and with no one to greet you when you arrive, the owners nevertheless make checking in a breeze and even have the wit to provide an extra key in the lockbox in case you lock yourself out. In the morning, a "breakfast nook" opens at 8:30am so you can have a muffin and fruit and juice with the coffee you've made in the room. Ocean views are spectacular, even if you don't have an ocean view room, since you can walk up the trail to enjoy the sea. A real find. I've passed through Lucia dozens of times and always wondered what it would be like to stay there. Now I know. On this trip, it was the perfect stop.

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the exceptional experience. The room was immaculate, beautifully maintained, and provided a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The ocean view was truly breathtaking and added an unforgettable touch to the entire stay. There was something special about being able to unwind while taking in the beauty of the ocean right from the room. Overall, this was an exceptional stay from beginning to end. The combination of the beautiful ocean views, pristine accommodations, convenient location, and outstanding service made it feel like a true luxury getaway. I would absolutely return and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing stay.

Awesome property with views to die for. Very quiet and the rooms were nicely appointed. Only thing is food is either 30 mins North or 40 mins south. Luckily, there is a taco truck across the street that is delicious! Definitely 10/10. We would definitely return again! Thank you Lucia Lodge! 😊

Cool cabins on the cliff edge. Clean and rustic. Nice gas fire in the room. Sounds of crashing waves. Enjoyed sitting out on the Adirondack chairs watching the sea. Shame there isn’t any food or places to walk but that didn’t spoil the stay.

The views are perhaps one of the best in the world. Big, mature pines on the side of a cliff with spectacular ocean views. Clean rooms, modern bathroom, and one of the best showers I've ever experienced. Not restricted super spray, but real water volume and endless hot water. When you arrive, your name is on a little white board indicating your room number. Go to your room and get your key from a lock box. Lock box combination is on your paperwork. Enjoy. Below the cabins is an area with a bench and there is one above the cabins as well. Incredible views!

It wasn't what we expected, no t.v , no air conditioning. The carpet felt very damp and wet. Contential breakfast was in the she outside. The orange juice was expired. It felt like a ghost town. Would not stay there again.

Grace, who runs this property, was extremely friendly and very helpful. I arrived a few hours earlier, which enabled me to enjoy the property without having to wait until 4:00 to check in. This property is very special and I had a great time just staying put and relaxing.

“Mountain View” means you have a view of the parking lot. The other cabins looked so cute but the Mountain View cabin has a tiny window onto the parking lot, the whole place is painted a drab brown, the bed is very small (Full) and for the price we were very disappointed. The view from the parking lot is stunning. The breakfast looks like Costco muffins, hard boiled eggs and boxed juice. Breakfast is at least 30 minutes either way

The room was super clean. Very small, not a size you would spend the day in. This is a respite stop rather than a destination. Only 4 rooms have a direct unobstructed view, 4 have a view over the parking lot and 2 have no view. It’s easy to miss coming south on Highway 1. There is no Wi-Fi nor cell reception on the property. If you need WiFi cross HWY 1 to the open pullout. They do have a grab and go breakfast, hard boiled eggs, muffins and juice also some seasonal fruit. Keurig machines in the wardrobe of each room. No refrigeration. Windows open to cool down the rooms and there is a heater if needed. This was 5 minutes from Limekiln State Park. It’s a drive to any restaurant. There was a taco truck Friday and Saturday at the pull out with the WiFi. The view is incredible and we had a full moon. The hostess is there in the mornings. Instructions with your access code are on the door when you arrive, there is a board next to the food/ice shed that has the room assignments.
