Excellent location

I chose this cabin because of its relative location to the ski hills and because it had a cozy fireplace to warm up after skiing. After lighting one fire the entire cabin filled with smoke and messages to property management went unanswered. Other than that the property was perfect (other than not having laundry accommodations)

Review

No contact or email prior to arrival, had to contact management company to receive code for door after our arrival. Garbage outside scattered by can prior to our arrival. Fireplace flue didn’t vent properly, more than one log and smoke would back up into house. House and location were very nice. Enjoyed stay besides a couple issues. Contacted the contact person and she stated sold house 3 years ago.

Great little getaway

Awesome place to stay for a family skiing getaway weekend. Easy access to Powderhorn, loved the fireplace and outdoor firepit. We will be back next year!

Cozy and Comfortable

This was the perfect cabin for a group of XC skiers. We had 5 adults and could easily fit a few more. The fireplace was a plus and the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and utensils. Thanks for a great stay!

Cozy well appointed

Everything was actually very nice and comfortable. Clean and warm. Only negatives are ALL the outlets are worn and everywhere you plug in - your plug falls right back out. The showerhead is quite short. Cute decorations and a very good stay. We'll stocked kitchen and firewood.

The house was well-equipped and the area stunning. It was close and accessible to everything we wanted to do. The only thing I was not happy about was the lack of laundry in the house. It would have been very helpful. Also, the communication between myself and the actual host was complex,due to the presence of multiple parties. No offense to Orbitz or to Evolve, but if i had been able to communicate directly with Abbey from the very beginning, as is possible with traditional VRBO listings, much hassle could have been avoided.

Beautiful scenery

We enjoyed our stay at the Valhalla cabin. They had everything we needed for our week there. Abbey was very helpful with ideas for the area during our stay.

Great for family of 5

Our family of 5 stayed for 3 nights to ski at Powderhorn for the weekend. The house was clean and cozy and had everything we needed. It was very close to the hill and shopping in Bessemer. We will be back!

Great Stay at the Lodge

We had a great stay at the Lodge for our Vacation. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and we loved the fun decor and themed rooms! The property manager was very communicative during our stay. Good location near hiking in the Porcupine Mountains and waterfalls!

Great location near Big Powderhorn

Convenient and cozy cabin minutes away from Big Powderhorn resort. No laundry but wasn’t an issue for our short stay. Great fireplace and family room area; comfortably slept our party of five!

Perfect setup for our family of 5. 3 minute drive to Powderhorn and 10 minutes from the town.

Easy process, had a incredible storm and snow plow had us out by 830, so we could hit slopes first thing.

Amazing stay!

Beautiful cottage for our family of 5. The kids loved playing in the snow and the location was ideal to run back and forth to the ski hill. Beautiful artwork through out the house and the beds and linens were perfect too. I only wish there was a washer and dryer!

Great place to enjoy winter in the UP! Lovely rusticity, Charming ambience

Wood pile was stacked with proper dry wood. Clean and comfortable furniture and beds. Very nice entertainment system. Kitchen is open and well supplied with pots, pans, utensils, and dishes. Close to town, hiking and snowshoeing trails, and right next to the ski area. A very welcoming place to go back to at the end of a day of adventuring! Dans Antique Mall is fantastic if you're into antiques. Maplewood Steakhouse has excellent food. I would've rated the cabin at 5 stars but the chimney had a minor Backdraft issue causing smoke to enter the living spaces periodically. This was a minor issue though and overall it was a great place to stay and a very good memory for me and my family.

Nice touches. Clean and perfect for our vacation!

This property was perfect for our vacation time with the family. We had plenty of room and the warmth of the fireplace was great after a day of skiing. You can tell there had been much thought in making this house special for their clients like very soft sheets, comfortable mattresses and even "Vick tissues". Thank you for your thoughtfulness and willingness to share your home with us. We would definitely stay again!!

Wherle Lodge is a great place to stay at Powderhorn!

Cabin in the woods

Great, cute, updated, and clean cabin a very short drive to Powderhorn. The fully stocked fireplace inside was pretty and used. The outside firepit was used after skiing. A very short drive down the road to Powderhorn - we came home every day for lunch in front of the fire. We even had a non-skier in the group who stayed back, slept in, and enjoyed the free wi-fi. I've rented a lot around the Powderhorn area and many of the cabins are very out of date with old shag carpeting, outdated furniture and carpeted bathrooms (yuck). This was a pleasant surprise. I will definitely stay here again.
