Disappointing for a 5-Star Hotel, Saved Only by Location & Massages
The hotel is clearly outdated and in need of a serious makeover. While the staff was generally polite, the overall service level did not match 5-star expectations.
Housekeeping was particularly disappointing. On many occasions things were forgotten: trash left behind, bed linen not changed despite a specific request, missing tea cups, and other small but frequent oversights. These issues happened far too often to be considered isolated incidents.
Guest relations were always apologetic, but the responses felt somewhat clumsy and superficial.
The SPA itself was fine, but the massages were excellent — truly the highlight of our stay and the one area where we were genuinely very pleased.
Breakfast was acceptable, but again not what one would expect from a 5-star hotel in terms of quality or variety. Dining overall was a poor experience; by that point we simply accepted the reality and tried to stay positive.
On the positive side, the location is great, which is a major advantage.
Overall, this hotel falls well short of its 5-star rating. With proper renovations and better attention to service details, it could improve significantly — but as it stands, expectations should be adjusted.
