"The Mecure is a walkable distance from the train station, and from its front doors and front rooms one can look right down a main avenue to the Esplanade and the Firth of Clyde. The staff was excellent, helpful, and friendly. Breakfast had a wide choice of buffet items. I also had supper two evenings in the hotel, and the wait staff plus food were very good. "We have just had the most incredible stay since the minute we arrived on Friday. The staff couldn’t be more helpful or friendly. Jasmine in the Spa is deserving of a special mention. As someone who rarely gets treatments, I was very unsure of myself she immediately put me at ease as well as delivering the most relaxing salt scrub. "Couple stayed the one night, B&B, used the gym, pool and sauna, all good with that. Had an evening meal, which to be fair was pretty expensive, tasty enough but not decent size portions for the price, plus no vegetables included. Breakfast was worthwhile, enjoyed that. Room was a good size, bathroom was adequate, all in all nice clean hotel, no complaints, just a bit expensive for evening meal and drinks."

"Easy to drive to the hotel. The room was great - quite plush. We stayed in the modern part. Bar and restaurant area was fun. Music at dinner could have just been a recording. The band was uninspiring. The food was incredibly salty. My wife had to return her fish dish because it was too salty to eat. My steak was also very salty. Breakfast was a bit lightweight, but the poached eggs were the best we had tried all week at various other hotels. Staff were all very kind."
