"A very central location and spacious clean room. Staff attentive. Only issue was bathroom mirror light was not working, but did not affect our stay."

"Stayed at Chequers Inn, Battle, for three nights and we were very happy with the Inn and its location. We had a very comfortable stay and the staff were friendly. Would stay again if I was in Battle. About equal distance from the railway station and the town centre."

"The pods are excellent, I would like to make two suggestions first as they are meant for occupation by two people there was only one fold up seat. Also, I think a wall mirror is needed cited above the bedside cabinet. I think the pods themselves are brilliant and very warm and the bed was very comfortable."

"This was a fun place to stay while visiting the battle field. The village was very interesting with many small shops. The room appeared to be recently renovated and staying above a pub was a fun experience. The pub itself was also excellent. Our only complaint was lack of air conditioning...which resulted in us opening a window...and listening to traffic (the road out front is very busy) All-in-all, I would strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area"

"Our stay at the Mount Edgcumbe was genuinely exceptional. My wife wasn’t feeling well during our visit, and the manager and staff showed such warmth and care — nothing was ever too much trouble.
