It now has its own restaurant and pub, "The Waterfront", shopping galleries, including a butcher and a baker who bakes on the premises!

Trent and Mersey Canal at Barton Turn, Staffordshire. On the Trent and Mersey Canal, Barton Turn Bridge and Lock are ahead. The black pillar by the towpath is a water point for the use of boaters.

Mill Bridge near Barton-under-Needwood, Staffordshire. Trent and Mersey Canal. The canal was fully opened in 1777. Mill Bridge (No 39) used to carry Mill Lane across the canal to the A38, and across. Since the dual carriageway was constructed, this route has been closed, and people from Barton-under-Needwood are routed to other more elaborate crossings which allow uninterrupted traffic flow on the A38.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The shower was also excellent. The meal was amazingly priced for 3 courses and the chief made the pudding from scratch. I would absolutely go back again and even if we disnt stay the night i could eat the chiefs food all day long every day
