"Terrible staff, pretty useless. Stayed there for 4 nights, kept asking them for housekeeping everyday, but did not get housekeeping on any day- no toilet cleaning, no bedsheet changes, no fresh towels. Staff were unapologetic, pathetic. I should have read the reviews of other guests.
Location is bad, next to huge cemetery and couple miles away from the city. Try living closer to the city center so you can walk everything.

"Unbelievable atmosphere; we were met at the door with a big welcome. We were seated in
the reception area and offered a glass of champagne while we checked in. We were escorted to our room and familiarized with the amenities. Afternoon tea was wonderful! Everything was wonderful from start to finish! Our host Steve made our stay the best stay in Scotland!

"The simple but perfect bed and breakfast. You could walk to downtown in less than 13 minutes and it came with a great breakfast room and home cooked breakfast. It felt like you were in someone's guest room. It felt nice."

"This is a beautifully maintained building with so much character and personalized love put into it; we loved our stay! It is slightly off the “path” of larger hotels, making it perfect for us. It is so close to town, we easily popped over a walking bridge for dinner and then found the best cafe for breakfast. "We booked a night here as part of our 25th anniversary trip, staying in the Oak room, and it was one of the greatest highlights of our entire trip. "Very tired old property. When they showed us the room it first reminded me of one of the servant quarters in a recent historic house tour. We booked a classic double.
The room was damp, full of dusty furniture and the bed mattress springs were gone. There was a tiny window with a view to nothing.
We lasted 10 mins and left.
The manager gave us lots of options, one being the same room type and the other being the front door with just an apology and no refund offered.

"We stayed in one of the Bear Huts. Although I'd seen the photo, I did not think it was going to be as cramped inside as it was. It's certainly not big enough for two people. The large and very comfy bed was fitted over storage space and was so high up my husband had to help me up onto it in a very ungainly manner. Definitely needs a step up of some sort.
All the storage units had noisy bolt lock fastenings.
Getting the boiler working for hot water in the shower was a work of art.
