"My cousin and I had a lovely stay at Hotel Du Van Stratford Upon Avon. A particular call out to the associates in concierge and check in / check out - they were the most friendly and helpful hotel / resort staff I have experienced, and I have done some extensive travel. I was also very happy with the cleanliness of my room and hotel. The staff in the restaurant for breakfast were also very friendly and helpful. I do think the food could have been a bit better - more choices and pastries...

"Spacious rooms, helpful staff, great location, and excellent value. There's a good pub (the Bear) and French Bistro (Bistro Pierre) downstairs. They were in the middle of some renovations while we were there, which is understandable, but the disruption was minimal."

We booked through Expedia and it said no attendant on site - so there was confusion on where to leave our bags and we did not receive a response so we ended up paying Premier Inn to hold our bags. "Fantastic location. Quiet but within easy walking distance of town centre. No free parking but paid car park very close and plenty of space even at busy times (weekend/evenings only). Nice room with quirky decor. Comfortable bed. Delicious full English breakfast. Some cleanliness issues. Shower head full of limescale. Carpets in communal areas threadbare. Overall, though, we would stay again."

"Loverly riverside terrace with plenty of seating areas. Breakfast is wide ranging but can be a bit of hard work finding all the choices and very busy on weekends. Club Lounge fills up quickly when complimentary drinks and snacks appear. Very effective air con in rooms. But in comparison to other local hotels, we would always stay here."

"No A/C. We requested a fan and they brought us one that was full of dust. Didn’t realize that until we turned it on and dust chunks flew out. Realized we could use the hair dryer to blow out all the dust so that helped but then dust chunks were all over the floor. Facilities are a little run down. Staff was duct taping down the carpet in the hall right outside our door. Check in at kiosk didn’t work. Staff present was not that helpful but eventually got us checked in."

"A lovely quirky & very old hotel. We had a great stay & will come back again. Not really any negatives above what you would expect from an old historic building. Attention to detail could be improved in a few area's, but these are minor, picky things. Positives far outweigh the negatives. Great building,l & great location to town. "The hotel was ok, no more or no less than that. The pictures on the website were all of the newer bit of the hotel by the looks of it. Our room even said “old” on the invoice I signed. Bed ok, room had good furniture but too much of it so barely room to move. Window to a fire exit that kept banging in the wind. Shower screen might as well have been wire mesh as water leaked everywhere and flooded the bathroom which looked to have been happening for a while looking at the water staining / state...

"The girl behind the bar/receptionist was lovely and even gave us her own personal fan, but the room was at best 1 star, the toilet had human waste and toilet paper in it upon arrival, And what looked like human waste in the wall and floor, Photos attached, The shower was dirty, and the rooms window opened up onto a disco bar that was open to 2.30am, this review is based on the room only, The room was in an awful state and not worth the money all, I can’t give 0 stars so I had to settle with...

"Property is quirky and well located but outdoor space needs some TLC to make it more usable and some more friendly outdoor seating. I found it unusual to be asked to strip the bed and put into a plastic bag before departing. Everything needed was there and I would return."
