They had a backup generator but the switchover was annoying. Truly just a first world problem. The food in the restaurant was pretty good. "

"I stayed in this hotel many times. The staff are friendly and rooms are of good size and the breakfast is good. But the room I stayed didn't have a mirror in the bathroom and didn't have the mini-fridge. Other than that, it was all good."

"We stayed at Hotels Umaiyyal Home Stay for 3 nights. The rooms are very good and spacious. They were tidy and well-maintained. However, during our stay, the lifts were not operational. We were allocated a room on the 3rd floor, so we had to use the stairs for two days. The staff here is not proactive; they wait until we complain, and follow-up is required. "Please note this is a budget hotel so you get what you pay. It is convenient hotel located close to Kanyakumari beech, shopping market and restaurants. Room was decent. Bathroom was just okay. Breakfast was the best part of the stay and highlight of our trip."

"Staff keep coming to room and ring bell like every 30 minutes. No respect for guests privacy. They ask questions like you want tea? You want to go watch sunrise? This after waking me up at 5 30. Morning there was no water in pipe. No good dining nearby. I will not recommend "

"Me and my wife had to checkout of the hotel because the hotel did not meet the standards mentioned at Hotels.com. Bathroom and beds were dirty with spots and spit on walls. It was a “smoking” room and I could smell the smoke and saw the ashtray. I did not stay in the hotel and request for a FULL REFUND ASAP !!! "

"Not that clean , room facilities are not great …"

"The reservation booked through Hotels.com was not found at the property. I just asked them to give me a room for a separate payment to avoid the hassle of finding another hotel. The hotel looks good but service was terrible. No hot water, none/limited options for dining or breakfast. No other restaurants close by. TV didn’t work/only Tamil channels."
