"Upon check-in we noticed the lobby had an odd smelly odor to it. The front desk lady was super nice but that’s where the staff friendliness ended. When we went to our room there was huge portable air conditioning unit on roller wheels with a giant tube stretched across the room and out the window, it looked like an exhaust vent. The smell of mold was very prominent and overbearing. My boyfriend has terrible asthma and he instantly became choked. We went to the front desk to request a refund...

"The room looked clean, but unfortunately it did not smell fresh. There was a noticeable odor, like dust and something stored away for a long time, which made the stay a bit uncomfortable. With better ventilation or a deeper cleaning, the experience could have been much better."

"We don’t have a whole lot to complain about, so 4 stars is harsh, but Expedia didn’t give a 4.5 star option. It was a clean and quiet hotel where the rooms and public areas were all in good shape. (We didn’t have time to use their spa and pool.) If we were to stay in this area, I wouldn’t mind picking this hotel again. "I would stay here again. On site sauna and gym open til 10pm, gym is small but clean. They also have an on-site restaurant thats extra but breakfast was fresh and quality was excellent. One mile walk into downtown Truckee and 0.5 mile walk to nearest plaza that has a decent Thai and wine restaurant. Short 20 mins drive from Palisades if there's no traffic."
