Home away from home

This was a wonderful place to stay for a great vacation. Perfect location for the best of both worlds… quiet area in the mountains to enjoy nature yet within driving distance from many enjoyable activities. We loved our time spent here!

Great week in a great location

Property comfortable, clean, beautiful. We had beautiful weather. Close to hiking, towns, etc. Had a great time together in a place that feeds my soul!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay in Fairplay for the weekend. The house was very clean and had plenty of space. It was very quiet and peaceful, but also a quick drive to get into Breckenridge. I recommend staying here!

One of my faves so far.

Beautiful home. Great location. Even saw a moose night 1! But the best part is that it didn’t feel like someone’s rental, we felt like we were staying at someone’s home! Thoughtful touches throughout, everything we needed to cook good meals. Gorgeous patio to relax and eat on and the bed warmers were heavenly on the cold nights. Stairs inside the home were rough for a dog, but easy enough to take them the outside route. Will absolutely be coming back!

Great Getaway

We had snow on the way to the property, and the plow was just finishing the driveway when we got there. The area is beautiful and rather remote. The house is very comfortable with all of the amenities we needed. Thanks for a great stay!

Mountain Get Away

This place is a great combination of being close enough but also provides the feeling of being away from it all. We had a great time hiking around the area. We also spent time in Breckenridge and Buena Vista. This place was close to both. We took time to tour South Park City and we had great meals at South Park Brewing and Millonzis in Fairplay. We topped off our trip with a hike to the summit of Mount Sherman! All in all this place provided all the things we needed for a relaxing time in the mountains!

Wonderful place!

We stayed here in early August for vacation. Wonderful house with many amenities. Many hummingbirds and chipmunks around, be sure to keep the hummingbird feeder clean and filled for free entertainment! On our last day we were surprised to see a fox hanging out in the front yard, very cool. Everything in the house was comfortable and well kept, and it was quiet here with neighbors at a distance. It's not far to Fairplay, and they have a grocery store, coffee shop and great ice cream spot there. Would definitely stay here again.

Cozy cabin in fantastic area!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at your cabin! Perfectly located near Alma, Jefferson Lake, and beautiful hiking trails. Worked well as a home base for our family on our mountain vacation. Cabin was cozy and well-equipped to host our family of 7. We did feel like it needed a good, deep-cleaning. Surfaces were dusty, lots of cob webs, and all light fixtures really need to be wiped down. Not a big deal and we enjoyed our stay overall! Would definitely return! 😊

Secluded peaceful cabin

My husband, 2 adult children their significant others and my sons girlfriends 2 yr old stayed for the week. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was stocked very well which was great since we cooked all of our meals there. We hiked on trails around the house . Made several short drives to locations not too far from the cabin. One of the highlights of the cabin is the front deck. Enjoyed sitting there with the humming birds and views. It was so relaxing. So nice to sit and relax several times. Cl

Place worthy for a Holiday stay

We were there during Christmas 2023 and absolutely loved the place. Everything was as mentioned and liked the way everything was organized and supplied all the necessary utensils etc. Amy was prompt with the responses. For those driving a non All Wheel Drive vehicle, try to use Country Road 12 instead, my car got struck in snow on CR10 and the Tow truck driver suggested this route and never had to put on the chains again.

No information that there were 2 lockboxes and we were in a snow storm and did not know the locations. We later learned that the one on the bottom was for cleaning staff. No information as to the location of the washer and dryer and we discovered it behind a bookcase. Circular stairs were also problematic. Overall though we had a good time

We really enjoyed this property. The location being so close to Alma is ideal, and the home itself sits on a large lot that provides plenty of privacy. There was an issue with the dishwasher not working, however, the owner reached out to us right away at check-in to inform us of the problem. He let us decide whether we wanted to try to have it fixed during our vacation or wait until after our stay was over to send a repair person out to the house. We opted to hand wash dishes to avoid any interruption to our daily plans, and we appreciated be given the option to do so by the owner.The house is spacious with 3 bedrooms and 2 separate living areas, but the upstairs gathering space is a little tight for groups larger than 4. The kitchen had everything needed for making all meals, and the grill on the side deck was perfect for barbecuing. We enjoyed spending hours on the front deck watching the wildlife, especially the hummingbirds, and soaking in the nice weather.Overall, we found this home to be a great place to stay and would definitely return in the future.

Made the trip from Dallas, Tx. The drive in was breath taking. The cabin was great, tucked away in the mountains with plenty of privacy. It was clean and great amount of space for the 4 of us adults, plus my dog. We got to feed chipmunks and saw some deer. Had a little hiccup with the hot water faucet downstairs but the host was very communitive and did their best to resolve it as quickly as possible. Stairs inside are difficult for older individuals or dogs to use (we used the stairs outside most of the time) the road coming up is quit bumpy but expected when you're in the mountains. The leaves were just starting to change colors for the fall, which made for even more stunning views everywhere. Easy to get to Breckenridge and Fairplay. We made the trip to Leadville for a train ride and it was fantastic. We got to see the stars and some very beautiful sunsets! Overall it was a very nice and peaceful getaway. Loved the escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and didnt want to leave!
