I'm not sure what happened here, but upon arrival, the hotel did not have a room for me. They had my information from Expedia, but no longer had a room available. I received messages from the hotel a few days earlier with check in instructions and everything, which led me to believe everything was in order. The clerk checking me in said it was an issue at Expedia and attempted to call them, but said that the message stated that they were "closed". I only had wifi service so couldn't place calls myself. I did the only thing I could and booked a last minute room at Hotel Kea (just around the block) for a significantly higher price. Thankfully they were able to check me in upon arrival!
Upon reporting my issues to Expedia when I arrived home, they attempted to reach out to the hotel for a refund and their response to me stated verbatim "even though it was a non-refundable booking, I pushed for more flexibility and they decided to approve your refund." Excuse me? I prepaid for a room months ago, it was not available upon arrival at 5pm on the day of my booking, and Expedia had to "push for flexibility" to get a refund? Honestly I think they should have had to offer a refund plus the difference that I was forced to pay to rebook at the other hotel. I would not recommend this hotel based on this experience. Be careful when booking this hotel!
