Private seaside couples hideaway

Very private small cabin nestled in a bush clad section, over looking the sea just 100 metres from a lovely sandy beach. The captivating Catlins Southern Scenic Route commences right on your doorstep. The perfect place to just chill whether it`s wet or fine with that special person or pet.

Very private and strictly for no more than two friends or a couple plus that special pet.

You will have access to everything available except storage shed. Its a stand alone Bach on large bush clad section.

Directions and access details will be emailed to you prior to your arrival. We will not meet with you personally but will contact you via phone to ensure you are settled and OK with everything.

Approximately 1 km out of Kaka Point at Willsher Bay the Bach is part of a small village of 7 other properties with 4 occupied by permanent elderly residents. Very quite, friendly and willing to help if needed.

There is no public transport in the area and an hours drive from the Dunedin Airport. Its a good base to visit Queenstown - 3 hours, Invercargill - 2 Hours and Dunedin 1.5 hours. The Southern Scenic Routes starts on your doorstep. There is amble parking available for Cars or Camper vans.
We expect you to respect the property, fixtures and fittings, Smoking is permitted but only outside. Pets are also allowed but take care of their waste. Strictly no other Guests, Infants or Children.

Nice quiet, cosy spot, with nice views and surrounding bush while being close to the beach and township. Very well appointed, clean, tidy and warm. Paul was very helpful when we needed to extend by a few days at short notice.

The best bach we have stayed in. Spotlessly clean, stylishly furnished and comfortable, and well equipped with appliances that are easy to use. Stunning location in a pretty and private garden, less than 5 minutes walk to the beach. We enjoyed watching Netflix in the evening. Excellent communication with the host. Can't wait to return! Thank you also for allowing our dog to stay.

Quaint Cottage By the Beach

I stayed here 6 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed it. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking all your meals. The queen size bed is very comfortable and cozy nestled just behind a loveseat sofa in front of the TV. There is a spacious patio/deck area with comfortable furniture, and Webber gas bbq, well suited for entertaining. I enjoyed the view and walking distance to the beach and village area. The local pub has good food and staffed with friendly folks. There is grocery shopping within 20 minute drive to Balclutha. Paul is a great host who was very attentive when the WiFi internet speed dropped to almost nothing. He had it fixed the next day. If you want a fun, peaceful stay at the ocean, this is the place!

Hidden Gem

As you pull up the crib is hidden from view by well tended mature plants and what a delight you’ll get as you emerge from the path. The well maintained, comfortable and well laid out accomodation surpasses expectations, we loved our 2 night stay. The outside areas were also better than expected and we enjoyed both meals and relaxation in the spaces, which also enjoyed awesome views of the sweeping beach to Kaka Point village, a lovely 15minute walk away along the beach. A lovely 10minute drive along the coast, in the opposite direction, brings you to the spectacular Nugget point.We highly recommend this crib to others.

The good and the bad

The good: nice couples get-away, as listed. Quality furnishings. Great view and location.The bad: you don't find out until close to check-in that you should bring your own drinking water and not flush the toilet too much. We lost power both mornings that we were there, one hour the first day and we left the second day after 2 1/2 hours without electricity. That means no water pump so no running water, the alarm will start beeping over and over again, no internet, no heat. Be aware, the water that is available when the pump is working has an off-putting odor. There was no hairdryer available as listed. It is a studio with beds in the living room.

Happy stay at kaka point

Exactly what we needed. Stayed two nights. Took dog with us. Property presented very clean and warm, comfy bed and a great location. A park across the road and a 2min stroll to the beach. A great base for us to explore the area. Will definitley be back, thank you for having us. Thomas

Relaxing time away in nature and comfort.

A lovely little space with everything you need. So grateful we were able to bring our fur baby too, thank you! Neighbours were closer than expected and noisy with powertools etc so that took away from some of the quiet hideaway aspect, but otherwise great, thank you.

Our Hideaway Holiday

Although it was just one room the layout was so well thought out through that there was plenty of space available. It was well appointed and comfortable and spotless when we arrived. The location was first class in respect of access to facilities in Kaka Point and points of interest.
