Step into comfort at this 1BR/1BA cottage overlooking the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge. Just minutes from Long Beach Island, it’s a peaceful retreat with wide-open marsh views and easy access to boating, hiking, crabbing, and the beach.

Relax in the open living room and kitchen. Step outside to the decks for sunrise coffee or sunset drinks while watching herons, ospreys, and other wildlife.

Self-check-in with keypad. Full use of cottage and decks.

Boat Parking is not available. Owner’s boat is moored there, and the owner may access the dock occasionally; minimal impact on privacy.

Our stay (12/5-12/7) was nothing short of wonderful. The house was perfectly appointed with classic coastal decor, a gorgeous kitchen with every prep tool you could need, a lovely living room area that looked out on the dock, the water and the incredible views, a large modern bathroom and a very comfortable, firm bedroom mattress. The home was IMPECCABLY clean. The owner worked with our schedule for arrival time and was a short distance away if we needed him. (We did not). The views alone of the Edgar B Forsythe Refuge are worth the visit, but the close proximity to the Visitor Center at the refuge (20 min) and its 8 mile Wildlife Drive (we went 3x), Holgate (Beach) Refuge (30 minutes), as well as Beach Haven and Ship Bottom (25 minutes) was what drew us as amateur photographers. We had a phenomenal "reset" weekend and would LOVE to come back!! Thank you!

Wowie, what a find! This cottage is incredible. It was a bit more to stretch our dollar to come, but it was worth every cent! Immediately on arrival the views were captivating. Appreciated the quick answers from Shane about questions we had, and if we are ever back in this area would love to stay here again.

The house was super clean and spacious—just like the photos! The location is really peaceful and quiet.There were some flies outside, but the owner really tried to deal with it. Sometimes there's just no way to avoid that kind of stuff.Overall we really like the house and highly recommend. We went to the beach during our stay. Just a heads-up: the house doesn’t have beach chairs or beach towels, so if you're planning a beach day, make sure to bring your own!

We had an amazing time at this well maintained, clean, and comfortable cottage! Much of our time was spent on the back deck and dock, enjoying the peace and quiet and watching the vibrant wildlife (including a terrapin laying its eggs.) The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans in order to cook meals if you choose, or you can head to nearby Ott’s for a lovely farm to table meal. Shane is an excellent host and is extremely responsive with messages in order to answer questions or provide information. We highly recommend this home for a week long or weekend getaway. We’ll be back for sure!

Lovely cottage with breathtaking views!

We enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was beautiful, clean, and had all the amenities we needed. The views of the marshes and the creek from the deck are stunning.

Perfect Getaway

It was a perfect stay beautiful home great views right by the water. If your looking to relax this is the place. The host was great gave me great information on local restaurants. If this home is available we will definitely be coming back.

Great Getaway

The house was clean, well taken care of, nice views and away from the shore chaos (but still super easy drive to the beach!). Sunsets were beautiful, we brought our own paddle boards to explore the marsh, and were able to do some crabbing.

Hidden Gem

An excellent place to relax. Morning coffee on the front porch watching the sunrise to wine on the back deck watching the beautiful sunset! Any questions we had before arrival the owner responded immediately. Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful cottage with great views!

Extremely clean and comfortable and stocked with all you need for an enjoyable stay. Amazing deck to watch the sunset while listening to the birds sing. The deck also has a grill, very comfortable seating and a large umbrella if you need some shade. Bring binoculars for bird-watching! The location was great -- you feel secluded and yet are close to everything. Ten minute drive to LBI. Plenty to do in the area or you can just relax and enjoy the view. Totally enjoyed our time here.

Bike and bird watching

Situated right in the Edwin Forsythe wildlife refuge is this super-clean house. From your back deck and front door you can observe a wide variety of shore birds. Bring bikes too and cycle up and down the long rode to the bay.

Beautiful Cottage surrounded by nature.

I can't say enough good things about our experience! When we walked in, the first thing that hit us was how clean and modern everything was. We immediately felt welcomed and comfortable. When we walked onto the deck, we were greeted by a Great Blue Heron and two little ducks. Being a bird lover, this was so wonderful! During our trip, we would also see an Eagle, cormorants and many song birds, including the red-winged blackbird, who's song is one of my favorites. Of course, the location is perfect! The views were amazing, even at night. LBI, EdwinB.Forsythe Wildlife Refuge's 8-mile drive trail and the Smithville Village are all less than 30 minutes away. All of the furniture/bed were clean and very comfortable. The check-in was seamless and Shane was very pleasant and responsive. We are so happy we found this beautiful get-away and look forward to returning to Adventure Cottage!

A relaxing peaceful get away

The cottage was very comfortable and peaceful. We usually eat out while on vacation but we enjoyed the property so much we only ate out for one meal during our stay.

The Best Little Vacation House!

We can’t get over how perfect our stay was! The house is exactly as shown in pictures. Cannot go wrong staying in this Immaculate, recently renovated and well cared for house and property. Five minute drive to route 72 and twelve minute drive to the island. The host Shane is incredibly helpful in providing the basic essentials for your stay and responsive (we couldn’t find the hose to fill the baby pool). Our family of four (husband and I plus our toddler and infant) had the best stay!
