Poor Refurb and Dirty

We turned up and the self check in box with code details is a really efficient and great idea to quickly get access to your room and no need to wait around. However when we got to our room (it stated queen bed online when booking) we received 2 singles. Looks nothing like the pictures as in reality we had a room which looked like it wasn't properly cleaned prior to our arrival. A balcony which had electric shutters which were damaged therefore couldn't open. An aircon unit which didn't work. Plug sockets dangerously loose. When contacted the team were responsive however not helpful, they said no way to change room, it was an error with the booking site showing double rooms and that all were single beds (therefore picture misleading) and they were "sorry for inconvenience" no refund offered. The worst part we had several ants that also made their way through the floorboards. Took video but can't be uploaded unfortunately. Overpriced. Underwhelming and under cleaned. Do Not Stay.

Dont trust the photos on the hotels.com. I wish i read the reviews before my three nights booking. First - cigarette smell in the room. Then - you dont have the property to yourself. You get noisy neighbours who get up very early. Lights in the staircase didnt work and they even didnt bother to change the batteries on the clock. Long black hair on the toilet rolls, which they even didnt bother to put on the roll holder. You get shop bought shampoo/shower gel. Soap dispenser was dirty, didnt even touch it. Extraction fan very dusty. No queen bed, just to pushed together singles and i almost fell on the floor between them, because they are not fixed together. Wall socket faulty. Wall around one window not finished, so you here all the noises from the street. Balcony door roller not working and stuck in the middle, so you cant get oout to the balcony. Asked to move me, because the smell was terrible. Were not able to move the first night, next morning they ignored me, so i decided to leave and asked for the refund, and i booked another hotel. No refund through them or through hotels.com. So not happy with the service from both of them. All i got was that i could uze other two nights with the property later, which i dont want to use anyway after this awfull experience. They ruined my holiday in Zagreb. Wont book with hotels.com again as they dont provide a good service, only get our money… air con didnt work neither, stuck on 30’C

Not as described. Says “entire home”. It did have 1 sentence to say kitchenette shared but was preceded and followed by “entire home” and “no areas shared” so we assumed a typo. Should have checked that’s on us but we booked a queen bed… it was two singles. The seal around the external door was gone so it was noisy and draughty. The walls are thin and everything echoes so you can hear everything in every room. Our shared kitchen neighbours were up at 5:30 am and we could hear them in the kitchen even though they were trying to be quiet. There were no cushions as shown in the photos and the pillows were extremely flat so very uncomfortable. Two towels provided but no mat for the bathroom floor so ended up sharing a towel and using the other on the floor to keep it dry and from slipping. No tea towel to dry up with so had to use our towels. No chopping board, no tea, no coffee even though it states “fully equipped kitchen” and “local coffee and selection of tea” No toaster so used the grill to make toast… no tea towel or oven glove so had to use my sleeve to get the hot rack out. Bin was overflowing and sink was full of the other people food bits all wet and clogging the drain. Socket was hanging off the wall behind the TV and the TV was unplugged so that’s how we noticed it. To clarify and be fair, it was cheap, it was clean. We are a couple in our thirties. Might be ok for young people travelling on a budget.
