The Wine Lover's Retreat is a high-desert getaway unlike any other. Taste your way from Albarino to Zinfandel in this charming desert getaway, perfect for the sommelier in everyone! Notice: The road leading to the property may have limited access between [Oct 27 – Nov 7, 2025] due to city construction from 7 AM – 5 PM. Access outside these hours should be unaffected.

This 2,030 sq ft home sports a large built-in BBQ grill and bar, 6-person hot tub, 7ft deep in-ground heated saltwater pool, large backyard with plenty of outdoor seating options, open concept living space, and views of the mountains out of every window. Here are the highlights:

Our open-concept floor plan allows for conversations to flow freely from the living room and kitchen to the outdoor patio and BBQ grill space through the large pass-through window. Inside, warm earth tones, natural materials and old-world charm await. Conduct a formal tasting at the built-in outdoor bar while you debate the best appellations for Chardonnay, relax in the leather chairs while you admire the legs in your glass of Burgundy, or cook up a gourmet dinner to perfectly pair with whatever you’re sipping in the fully equipped, open floor plan kitchen with picturesque mountain views.

There is a hiking path close by for those that wish to explore roads less traveled.

Our fully stocked kitchen includes a drip coffee maker, blender, BBQ utensils, cookware, plastic cups and plates for outdoor dining, family-style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and all of your cooking/baking necessities.

SLEEPING:
With 5 beds and 2 baths, there’s plenty of space for your family and friends.

OUTDOORS:
Our outdoor living room is covered under a tall patio roof and features a dual porch swing set, comfortable lounge seating, flatscreen TV with Airplay options, and space heaters for the colder months. A private, enclosed large outdoor space provides plenty of comfortable seating and multiple areas to gather. Catch some rays by the pool during the day, grill up some burgers at the outdoor bar & grill as the sun sets behind the mountain ranges, lounge in our outdoor living space for happy hour while you enjoy charcuterie at the reclaimed barrel coffee table, watch the outdoor space light up as the sun sets with our solar powered string lights, and take a late-night dip in our pool or hot tub while you admire the incomparable starlit skies Joshua Tree is famous for. In the colder months, cozy up by the fire-pit while you count the stars or bundle up in our outdoor living space beside the warm space heaters after taking a dip in the heated pool. The outdoor space is the place to be day or night anytime of the year!

FEATURES:
We are eco-friendly and have a solar-powered home. This is a Smart Home equipped with e-locks for self check-in, hi-speed wifi (up to 230 mbps), Smart TV's with Direct TV in the living room, outdoor space, and every bedroom. There's a private workspace with a desk and printer. The kitchen and bathrooms are fully stocked with all of your travel necessities.

The Neighborhood:
We are in a safe and quiet residential neighborhood at the very back of the mountain.

Getting Around:
Driving is your best option, but we do offer a private driver service since Uber is limited in the desert!

Other Things to Note:

POOL HEAT:
Gas pool heating is available Nov–Apr for $100/night (please give 48 hrs notice).
From May–Oct, electric heating is included for free. If it's ever not working, gas heat can be provided for $75/night. Pool gate setup is optional for $100.
Pool is serviced between guests or weekly for longer stays

Thanks to our eco-friendly electric pool heater, pool heat is included for free during your stay between May - October! Pool is heated to 85 degrees. So the heater doesn't overwork, the electric pump will only be active between 6am-9pm everyday. Please note it will take a couple hours to heat back up once the pump starts in the early morning. Keep in mind, we don't guarantee a set pool temperature due to drastic weather changes in the desert and our deep 7ft pool.

We also have a propane heater for the colder months. If you wish to have the pool heated between November - April, there will be an additional cost to heat the pool. Please inquire about the seasonal propane rates.

FAMILY & PETS:
We are family and dog friendly! Children 2 years old and above must be included as part of the total guest count. Dogs are accepted on a case by case basis. Please send us the breed and age for consideration. We will request a $75 cleaning & companion fee per pet. While we have a fenced backyard, small dogs may still be able to pass through. Please see our House Rules for more information.

EXTRA GUESTS:
Guest count must be the same as on the reservation. Children are considered as part of the total guest count. Most hosts set their nightly rates based on the total guest count. Instead, we set a lower base rate for up to 4 guests with an added $50/night Usage & Amenity fee (plus booking fees & taxes) for every extra guest. This allows us to accommodate smaller sized groups with affordable rates and honor our standard nightly rate for groups of 8.

POOL GATE:
We have the option to put the children's pool gate up. We charge $100 flat which goes to our handyman to set up & take down the gate. Please let us know at least one day prior to arrival if you wish to have it set up.

HOT TUB:
Spa heat is included during your stay! We set it to 104 degrees.

DAY GUESTS:
Any day guests must be approved prior to arrival. Day guests must leave by 10pm due to county ordinance.

CONSTRUCTION:
Friendly note that the house next door is currently under some construction. While this is out of our control, they only work during business hours.

PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF OUR NEIGHBORS! Follow our Good Neighbor Policy of no outside noise after 10pm and before 8am. Guests must refrain from any outdoor music, noise or other disruptions that may cause a disturbance to the community during quiet hours. Failure to respect quiet hours after an initial warning may result in cancellation of your reservation without refund.

CLEANING:
Health & safety is our number one priority. Our in-house cleaning team is trained on CDC and WHO protocols. We take extra measures to ensure the home is sanitized and safe before every arrival. For this reason we aren’t able to offer early check-ins or late check-outs. Thank you for understanding!

EARLY CHECK-IN OR LATE CHECK-OUT:
Check-in is after 4PM. Check-out is by 11AM. Requests for early check-in and late check-out are not guaranteed, and subject to additional fees.

HOT TUB:
We have a 4-person hot tub with bluetooth speaker connection.

PHOTOSHOOTS & VIDEOS:
If you’re interested in doing a photoshoot or shooting a video, please let us know what it is for. You must get approval beforehand! If approved, we have an additional fee for licensing and usage.

WILDLIFE:
You’re surely guaranteed to encounter wildlife on your stay including families of Quail, rare Albino lizards, insects, snakes, squirrels and the endangered kangaroo mice.

NO SMOKING:
This is a non smoking home. Any and all smoking should be kept outdoors. There will be a $250 charge for anyone not honoring this guideline.

VENDORS:
The spa/pool service is before and after reservations. If you have a stay longer than a week, we will coordinate spa/pool service with you. Trash service is every Tuesday. A team member will come bring the bins to the curb, but will never enter the home. If you are staying through Wednesday, we ask you to kindly return any empty bins from the street.

VERIFICATION: Bookings are protected by TRUVI. After confirmation, guests must complete identity verification (takes less than a minute) before arrival. Check-in details will be shared after this step. Guests may also need to agree to House Rules or Terms & Conditions.

CHECK-IN FORM: Before check-in instructions, guests must fill out a form via our link to help coordinate our ground team.

LACK OF CELLULAR COVERAGE:
You will notice that cell service is hard to come by in our secluded desert setting. Don't worry—consider it an invitation to unplug and fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty around you. We recommend planning ahead to make the most of this serene escape from the digital world.
