The Neighborhood:

Sommer Ranch is nestled in the quiet Upper Sky Harbor neighborhood, sitting directly at the base of Joshua Tree National Park with hiking trails accessible right from your front door.

◎ Black Rock Campground & Hiking – 3 minutes (or a 20-minute walk)

◎ Downtown shops, restaurants, and galleries – 10 minutes

◎ Pappy & Harriet’s / Pioneertown – 20 minutes

◎ Joshua Tree National Park Main Entrance – 20 minutes

◎ Palm Springs – 45 minutes



Getting Around:

Many roads in the high desert are dirt, so please take it slow. While a car is required to get around, a four wheel drive car is not.



Other Things to Note:

◎ MODPOOL AND HOT TUB HEATING:

Your rental includes heating for the hot tub. However, during the cooler months, there are extra charges for pool heating, see below. If you want the pool heated during these months, please let us know 48 hours before you arrive.

◎ Extra Charges for Pool Heating:

✓ September and May - $100/night

✓ October and April - $200/night

✓ November and March - $300/night

✓ December - $300/night

✓ January and February: $150/night



No jumping, diving, running or rough play near the pool and hot tub area. No glass can be around the pool and hot tub, there are plastic cups in the kitchen to be used outside. Please mind the quiet hours (no loud noises after 10pm). No intoxicated persons may use the pool or hot tub. NO LIFEGUARD WILL BE ON DUTY - YOU SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK.



◎ EVENTS & COMMERCIAL PHOTOSHOOTS: Are not permitted without prior approval, applicable permit and additional fees.



◎ DOGS: Your dog is welcome and there is a one time fee of $100. Please alert us in advance. Max of 2 dogs. No other types of animals are authorized.



◎ PROFESSIONAL CLEANING: Every Homestead Modern home is professionally cleaned between stays by experienced independent cleaning teams. After cleaning, each home is inspected by a member of our own local staff before the next guest arrives, providing an additional level of quality control and helping ensure the home is clean, prepared, and guest-ready.

◎ CELL SERVICE: Cell phone service availability and quality in the high desert varies by service provider. This is particularly true in the more remote areas of Joshua Tree, Pipes Canyon, and Pioneertown. Please be prepared by enabling wifi calling or downloading a VOIP program.



◎ ROAD CONDITIONS: Many roads are dirt, so please take it slow. A four wheel drive car is not required, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain



◎ CAMERA: This home has a security camera mounted on, and directed at the exterior of the home in order to monitor the quantity of cars on property so we may ensure compliance with local ordinances.
