As soon as you arrive you will begin to feel the expansive beauty and the unwinding!

Abiquiu Lake Mesa Home is a spacious one-bedroom, one-bath fully furnished home, set on a mesa overlooking the glassy waters of Abiquiu Lake, the red cliffs of Ghost Ranch and surrounding mountains on all sides. Located in Georgia O'Keeffe territory, it is surrounded by red and purple rock formations, Abiquiu Lake, the Chama River, Carson National Forest and Cerro Pedernal. Every view from every direction is truly inspiring.

This spacious and comfortable home is an oasis for quiet stillness, rejuvenation, and creativity. The house has a wonderful indoor - outdoor floor with 2 oversized sliding glass doors and a large verandah. You will feel the power of the water, land, and skies in this seamless indoor/outdoor space. Star gazing, sunrise, and sunset are not to be missed!

Staying here is an amazing and unique "get-away" experience located on an 8-acre property with the lake and red rocks in front of you and the famous Pedernal Mountain standing guard behind you. You can't help but sense the vast scope and close centering of the land that inspired Georgia O'Keeffe's paintings. The Studios are located in a secondary building on an 8-acre property. The history and beauty of the land is powerful. Enjoy immersing yourself in your surroundings, taking in the night skies and fresh air, hiking from your door, visiting the lake and surrounding areas, and recharging your spirit.

Step into the home and you will know you have arrived someplace special. It offers a spacious and open living area that includes a fully equipped kitchen, a separate dining area with a four person dining table, and 2 bar-stools at the breakfast bar.

The cozy living room with a fireplace invites you to curl up and relax with a book or movie or watch from your comfortable couch.

The primary bedroom suite has an en-suite bath with double sinks, a walk-in shower and wonderful soaking tub with a window. Luxurious linens and quality amenities finish the package.

While we recommend "unplugging" as much as possible, you also have complementary unlimited WIFI and 2 SMART TV's.

The home features sliding glass doors from both the dining area and the primary bedroom that open up to a deck which spans the length of the house and overlooks the lake. The deck offers three different seating areas and amazing views of Lake Abiquiu and spectacular red rock landscapes. You can enjoy a seamless indoor/outdoor living experience.

The steps from the deck lead to the fire pit and the six-person hot tub.

After booking, the owner will email a rental agreement with general property expectations.

Northern New Mexican Paradise

This beautifully appointed home sits atop a mesa with views of Abiquiú Lake in one direction and famous and enchanting Cerro Pedernal in the opposite direction — all this under a magnificent New Mexican sky. The house was modern and cozy w/ high-beam ceiling. Every window had a spectacular view. We walked the mesa and enjoyed the stunning views and peacefulness. What a find!

I had the chance to stay at the Abiquiu Lake Mesa Home, and wow—it’s everything you could hope for and more. The views are incredible. You’re perched above Abiquiu Lake, with the famous red cliffs and Cerro Pedernal around you. It feels like you’re living in a postcard.The house itself is super welcoming. It’s got this classic Southwestern vibe with plenty of space to relax. The big windows everywhere mean you’re never far from those jaw-dropping views. My favorite spot was the patio—I’d sit there watching the sunrise or soak up the peaceful vibes in the evening under a sky full of stars. And the view from the hot tub will take your breath away.There’s so much to do if you’re feeling adventurous—hiking, fishing, kayaking—but honestly, it’s also the perfect place to unwind and take it all in. It’s quiet, peaceful, and feels like a true getaway from the hustle of daily life.If you’re looking for a place to recharge or just enjoy some time in nature, this home is amazing. I left feeling totally refreshed and already dreaming about going back!

Quiet and heavenly getaway

We stayed at the Abiquiu Lake Mesa Home while attending a three day music festival at Ghost Ranch this month. The setting is as close to absolute zero sound as you will ever get, and the views, well, the picures don't do them justice. The house is well constructed and perfectly maintained, and the owner, Tani, a great communicator. Our stay went without a hitch, and without wishing for anything more. She accimodated our (well mannered) dog, which was essential. The walks out in the mesas were almost spiritual. It's a bit of a drive out there, on a maintained gravel road, and not super close to ghost ranch, but all in all I would not change a thng. The water pressure and tem and bath fixtures were great, after a day a Ghost Ranch. And zooming in to Abiquiu is easy and fast, for a meal or just a look. (Bosshards (amazing stuff, bring your wallet), Bode's (everything you could possibly need) and the Inn at Abiquiu (good food and setting). And it's about an hour from Santa Fe. Highly recommended.

Absolute restoration

We have stayed at this property several times as it is truly brings quiet and calm into your body and mind. The views of Abiquiu Lake, Ghost Ranch, and the Pedernal are truly spectacular. You don’t want to close your eyes for even a second. The house was, as always, very clean and the perfect home base. It has a well-stocked kitchen and super comfy bed. We will come back here any time we get the chance!

Spectacular Mountain & Lake Views

This is a wonderful house for two people to get away and experience the tranquility of almost perfect silence with amazing scenery from each window in every direction. We particularly enjoyed the nicely furnished deck, comfortable and with splendid views of Abiquiu Lake. We had our Golden Doodle with us which worked out fine. While we experienced some minor issues with the house, Tani was responsive in addressing those.

Beautiful and peaceful ❤

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here and it is a place we will never forget as long as we live. The home is very nice. Everything was immaculate and clean and very comfortable. The views here left us speechless and mesmerized. Everywhere you turn is another beautiful sky. The mountains take your breath away. The lake is wonderful. Blue mountain birds fly around creating a pop of color. It almost seems unreal. I've never taken so many pictures. It was the most breathtaking, unforgettable Zen experience we have ever had and we can't wait to come back!

Relaxing stay with beautiful views

We really enjoyed this stay, the views are magnificent. My wife and I stayed here for my son’s wedding that was held nearby in the National Forest. My mother and sister also joined us in the adjacent studios. Our location was perfect for my mom and sister to join us on the patio and share meals with us. While we were unpacking on our arrival my wife and I said “we are definitely coming back here”! This place is so charming.

Absolutely stunning views out ever window you can sit on the deck and see Ghost ranch and the lake. The house has the perfect layout open and inviting. I took a walk every morning with my pup and we watched the stunning sunrises. We did some hiking at Ghost ranch and Plaza Blanca. We also stopped at Monastery Of Christ in the Desert which is simple but beautiful. We hated to leave the tranquility and peace hoping we return someday

Absolutely Stunning

This is the most Absolutely Fabulous & Perfect abode for your Ghost Ranch & Abiquiu sojourn! It’s ideal for singles or couples; but particularly perfect for artists and writers desirous of a somewhat remote escape from a disruptive world, in order to tune into their creative spirit. I love Santa Fe & Taos, but the remoteness of this location and the gorgeous studio home with vistas framing stellar views, are exceptional. Tani’s place is perched at a slightly higher elevation than some of the other nearby rentals, capturing a wider panorama. The arresting views out the large windows are, of course, a show-stopper, inspiring, and prismatic. Ghost Ranch is across the lake, and its entrance is somewhere within view amongst the jagged red and yellow mesas jutting across the horizon. Peeking from behind the red mesas’ shoulders, are the faint sweeping green streaks of the forests capping the faraway Tusas Mountains. I don’t have views like this at home. Once upon a time the stars at night seemed big and bright in the carcinogenic East Texas sky… but it pales in comparison to the night sky at Tani’s retreat, where the stars are bold, bountiful, mesmerizingly beautiful, if not ethereal. The two loungers thoughtfully placed beside the house offer the most resplendent spot to gaze up into the infinite cosmos. Unfortunately... I have to cut this review short to fit within the character limit. It was fabulous! Namaste.

Magical Stay

The Abiquiu Lake Mesa House is gorgeous and magical. The views are breathtaking. We stayed for 5 nights celebrating our Wedding Anniversary and it could not have been more perfect. The house is equipped with everything you need, but make sure to bring all your groceries. The area is rural and remote. Nearest grocery store is 45 mins away. We visited Ojo Caliente Hot springs, climbed up the Pedernal and spent several days paddling on Abiquiu Lake. We just loved the time we spent here and dream of retiring to a similar place. Each evening we had drinks on the deck overlooking the lake and Ghost Ranch. The scenery is amazing!!! We also enjoyed the hot tub under the stars. So romantic! Do not hesitate to book this house. You will love it!!!

Beautiful remote getaway

If you're looking for something remote, isolated, and romantic, this house is for you! The view is as good as it gets. The bed was super comfy. The home was comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to cook breakfast. Lots to do in the area. The drive up the canyon to the monestary is a MUST DO! Breathtaking. My husband and I love coming out to Abiquiu, the house was clean and well maintained. 1 bedroom 1 bath, good for couples. View of lake from the porch was great. A big negative that interrupted our privacy was the yard man showed up several times working around the house and the septic tank man came to service the septic tank.

Beauty and tranquility abounds

My wife and I wanted a respite from our hectic lives to celebrate our 40th anniversary. I found this home. Its rather remote location and its surrounding beauty were the appeal. It met our every hope and expectation. We brought supplies for our 4 night stay and made the conscious decision to limit our travel away from this space. We could disconnect completely (if we chose). The sunrises and sunsets were marvelous. The star fields at night we spectacular. The quiet was rejuvenating. If you're familiar with Georgia O'Keefe's art, this is a stay inside her artwork. Tani, the host, was incredible. available, amiable, informative. Thank you Tani. We hope to return on another trip as this place was everything we could have wished.

I want to keep this place a secret.

This house is our go-to place when we want an unplug-type vacation. I want to keep this place a secret, but that is not fair to the owner of this beautiful home. Everything about the house is on point. The landscape and views are magical. We will be back next year.
