Summary:
Arguably the best location to stay in York - Woodsmill Quay is a beautiful, luxury apartment sat one floor up, on York’s central River Ouse. Housed within a beautifully preserved mid-19th-century former timber mill, the luxury apartment blends historic industrial charm with modern comfort - set right on the river side.

The Space:
Renovated to a high standard, Woodsmill View apartment is the perfect location and base for you to relax and unwind after a busy day exploring York and its historic city.

The apartment is bright and airy, flooded with natural light from both the double balcony doors, and the large sash window in the bedroom. With beautiful original trusses and beams exposed, dating back to the 19th century, there is a warmth and character here, giving real charm and luxury.

The apartment is unique in that it has a very rare, private balcony for you to enjoy - overlooking the river, with space to take in the views as the boats and the swans go by, on the Bistro set table and chairs.

Enter into the hallway, there is plenty room for shoes and coats. There is a Smart TV in the living room with Netflix, and spotlighting with dimming switch. The open-plan living/dining/kitchen, has stunning views over the river. There is a modern, new shower bathroom.

The cosy double bedroom has the most amazing river views which you can enjoy from your pillow. The sofa in the living area can pull out into a double bed, (extra people on request for a supplement, please ask.)

The beautiful kitchen, has all the modern comforts you will need, a coffee machine, dishwasher, oven, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle, tea making facilities and a selection of teas and coffee and milk for you to use. The kitchen island is the perfect spot for breakfast, with two dining stools, also great for laptops and if needed, a spot of work.

The ultra-modern bathroom has a large shower with overhead rain shower head, toilet, sink and backlit mirror.

We provide hand soaps, 2 dishwasher tablets, sponges and hand gel for use inside the apartment.

There is an elevator in the building should you wish to use it. New high speed Fibre Wi-Fi installed May 2025.

The central location makes it perfect to see all the attractions York has to offer. A peaceful and relaxing view of the boats and the ducks from your balcony yet you are just a few minutes walk into the heart of York.

We are able to offer you a private gated car parking space, in the garage beneath the apartment, for £15 per day, please let us know if you wish to book this.

The height of the garage at the tallest point is 1.75m and the width is 2.4m and 5.2m in length.



If your car is larger than these restrictions sadly we do not have the facilities to provide parking throughout your stay. There are car parks around the area, NCP Tanner Row is closest and Nunnery Lane next. Both within 5 minutes walk.

Please also note that although not a common occurrence if the river is flooded throughout your stay there will be no access to the garage parking. On this occasion you would be responsible for arranging your own parking and for your vehicle, we cannot be held responsible for any situation regarding your vehicle or the river flooding.

Guest Access:
Enter with the special key fob that we provide you. Nice and easy! There is a lift/elevator in the building if needed. The stairs are to your left once you have entered through the hall.

The Neighborhood:
Just a two minute stroll away from Woodsmill View is Yorks finest attractions. The York City Cruises depart from Kings Staith just opposite. The Shambles, York Dungeons, and York Minster are all within a few of minutes walk.

There is a Londis opposite the street, and a Sainsbury’s Local just a couple of doors up.



The property is less than 1 km from York Railway station, and within 300 metres of the city centre.

Getting Around:
Walkable to York train station, and the heart of the City is just a couple of minutes walk!

The apartments was very well positioned and very well appointed however the window in the bedroom could not be opened and made for very uncomfortable sleeping conditions this needs to be fixed for future guests if spoilt our stay as it was very difficult to sleep

Perfect city break

A really nice apartment

This a a great apartment, for a couple, in a good location with easy walking into the town centre. The apartment is extremely well equiped and comfortable and I would highly recommend it. Lynne was a brilliant host and extremely helpful with any queries we had.

We had a nice stay. However, we were surprised by the noise coming from other apartments and from across the river. Would suggest earplugs to future guests. Cute apartment, great views and nice location!

Weekend in beautiful York

This apartment is in the perfect location, everything within walking distance from your front door. Fabulous location on the river front. It was a little cold when we visited but we sat out with our morning coffee in the sunshine listening to to bells of the Minster and watching the rowers go by. The flat was spotless and had everything you need for a self catering break. The only drawback was the parking: we specifically wanted a flat with a parking space, which this has, but as it is right on a common flood area of the Ouse, it had recently been flooded. We did not know this until we went to get the key for the padlock from the flat and opened the gate. The space was covered in a thick layer of wet silt. We parked there but the river flooded during our stay and we had quite a stressful time early one morning reversing the car into the flood to park in a car park. Not sure how often the area floods but I wouldn’t rely on the parking unless the river is really low and perhaps would suggest checking with the owner before your stay.

Fantastic location

We had a great time in York and the apartment was lovely overlooking the river. Fantastic location, with everything a short walk away we didn’t use the car at all. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and Lynne responded promptly with any questions we had. The local pub, just across the street was great and the people were really friendly. Would definitely stay here again, thanks Lynne

First class property

My wife and i have been visiting York for years and this the best place we have stayed in yet👍 Fabulous apartment overlooking the river, in the heart of this lovely city yet still quiet enough to relax Lynne is a terrific host and we would not think twice about going again I would give 6 stars if i could Thanks again for a wonderful stay

Great weekend stay

Great location overlooking the river right in the centre of York. Very clean apartment, comfy bed. We parked in the train station car park which was reasonably priced as we thought our car would be too long for the garage. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony. It was the first weekend of outdoor eating during lockdown and everywhere was booked but as cooking facilities were very good, we were happy to eat at the apartment. Would definitely stay again.
