Experience the charm of York’s rich chocolate heritage with a stay at Flour Mill Studio, a beautiful city centre flat in the iconic Cocoa Suites. Located in the historic Rowntree Wharf, a former flour mill once considered one of the largest in Europe, this Grade II listed building now offers spacious, high specification apartments in a prime riverside setting.

This stylish ground floor studio apartment is bathed in natural light through its large window overlooking the river, creating a tranquil retreat while keeping you just a 5-minute walk from York’s historic city centre. Pops of colour throughout the apartment add character and vibrancy and you can enjoy sitting by the window with a morning coffee while taking in the riverside view.

Inside, the apartment features an open plan kitchen and living space, completed to a high standard with quartz worktops and a fully equipped kitchen. The studio layout includes a wall mounted pull-down double bed and a bistro style dining area for two, making it ideal for a weekend getaway or a home from home stay for business.

The luxurious shower room is fully tiled and includes a walk in shower. Additional amenities include access to the building’s bike store. While parking is not provided, several paid options are available nearby- please enquire for further details.

Everything was as described and expected, with a cool setting directly on the canal. Five minute walk to Shambles, and in fact we waked from the train station in twenty minutes. The studio apartment was self contained with all instructions in a handy binder. We cooked most of our meals in. Morrisons grocery a few minute walk away. The internet speed was quite slow, but enough to stream our ipads (only an issue of you are a heavy data user.) They had a smart TV and we were able to log into our Amazon and Netflix accounts. Will stay here again. Thanks

Studio apartment was perfect for our 4 days in York! The location was great! Ive been to York several times but always stayed at the Hilton on Tower St. I was afraid we wouldnt have the same proximity to everything! It was just as good if not better! So close to the Shambles, Fossgate, Stonegate, and the Minster. Would definitely recommend!

I loved staying at this nicely decorated and modern suite in an old cocoa factory. I love quaint and historical surroundings but I also like modern fixtures and fittings to come home to! The kitchenette saved me a lot of money on dining out. The view out of the window of the river Foss and the ducks, geese, and swans was marvelous. It was such a nice retreat to come home to at the end of a busy day, and a nice place to hang out and catch up on emails and work on a rainy day. One proviso, if you are visiting York without a car and have limited mobility, this might not work for you. The bus stop is a 7 to 10 minute walk away, the murphy bed is low to the ground, and the suite is at the end of a very long hallway.
