SMEAGLE'S TERRAPIN: Escape to Smeagle's Terrapin on Lower Gresham Lake. This spacious log home is perfect for large groups and offers a blend of Northwoods charm with modern amenities. Highlights of the lakefront home is a threatre room, air conditioning, foosball, firepit, fireplace, kayaks, dock, large yard, outdoor hot tub and several TV's. Situated between Arbor Vitae and Boulder Junction, this private lake home boasts a dock with a boat launch nearby.

HIGHLIGHTS: Enjoy movie nights in the theater room, complete with comfortable seating and a large screen. With 4 acres of open and wooded landscape, you’ll have plenty of room to explore. Enjoy a night telling stories around the campfire or soaking in the hot tub on the deck. The lake invites you to kayak, boat or simply relax by the water or around the firepit - there are 2 kayaks at the home for guest use! The home features an office, as well as a game room with foosball, two TVs and a bar. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need and there is a grill on the deck. Large windows, smart TVs, fireplaces, AC and washer/dryer.

PETS: This home is NOT pet-friendly. Please do not bring your pets or emotional support animals. The owner is very allergic to cats and dogs, so there are no exceptions to this rule. If there is a violation, there will be a $750 penalty fee.

LAKE: Lower Gresham Lake is a 149-acre full rec lake. Fish include Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. We have a dock to tie up your boat. The boat launch is nearby and is available for a small fee. Be sure to bring your water toys and watercraft!

TRAILS: This home is adjacent to 500 miles of groomed snowmobile trails. ATV/UTV riders can cover a variety of terrain in the area, from paved roads to dirt routes. Enjoy hiking in the nearby Nicolet National Forest or biking on the WinMan Trails. Check out the "Map It Vilas County Trails App" to navigate all the trail systems for any sport - snowmobiling, ATVing, cross-country skiing, biking, and hiking.

AREA: We are located15 min to Manitowish Waters,15 min to Boulder Junction, 20 min to Minocqua, 25 min to Mercer, and 40 min to Eagle River. A great central location for fishing, snowmobiling, ATV riding, biking on the trails, and ski areas! You can get to Snow River ski resort in the Western UP in under an hour!

PLEASE NOTE: We do not provide firewood, but get you started with one DuraFlame log for the living room fireplace. Please only use DuraFlame logs in the home. There is one exterior security camera facing the driveway.

Staff Retreat

I took several of my staff on a short team building retreat. I chose this location as it was remote enough for us to be engaged in activities with each other, yet close enough to local resources to be able to enjoy what the community has to offer as well. The property is beautiful and well maintained. We felt pampered with all the amenities. I honestly do not believe that any detail was missed. I would definitely stay here again. Wonderful job!!

The perfect hideaway!

The property was beautiful and clean. It had everything for a perfect "girl's" getaway. In the main living area, each person had their own recliner, a fireplace, and a beautiful view. This was our primary hangout spot. The beds were comfy and we each had our own space to spread out do to the layout and size of home. We are planning to come back!

Private Family Location

This property was even better than I expected. It was a well-furnished, clean home with everything our family of 9 needed. Perfect lake for kayaking and fishing. We appreciated the quieter location away from the busy touristy areas. At the same time, it was an easy trip to nearby spots for groceries, shopping, and exploring. Beautiful sunsets and campfires. We would have wished for more seating and some shade down by the dock. We will definitely be booking again!

Excellent stay in the north woods

We had an amazing stay. House is beautifully done with tons of amenities (foosball, games, large table for cards) and don’t forget the theater room! Lake is quiet and secluded. We brought inflatable paddle boards and kayaks to enjoy. Saw loons and an eagle. Perfect location between Manitowish Waters and Minocqua. Communication with the hosts was seamless.

Beautiful home

Home was beautiful. Really enjoyed the theater, great for watching the Brewer games. Note: bring your passwords for any streaming services you have. Fishing was great off the dock. Beds were very comfortable, plenty of room to spread out. Owner was very responsive and helpful.

Beautiful inside but outside…

A beautiful log cabin in the woods and on a quiet & serene lake! Cabin was clean and accommodations were adequately supplied. There is only one complaint we all had and that was the outside yard and landscape needing a lot of attention! The pathway down to the dock was an obstacle course all the way to the lake! Because of this it would not be a place I can take my grandchildren, sadly.

Amazing Stay!

Great cabin just 20 minutes from Minoqua!

Our stay at this cabin was absolutely lovely! It is located about 20 minutes outside of Minoqua so just know that your nearest gas/bait/grocery will be a small trip into town. The cabin itself was very spacious, clean and well-equipped. We especially loved the open kitchen and the theatre room in the basement! The fire pit was up close to the house which was great, because the trek down to the dock was a bit steep/uneven. We had someone in our party using a cane who couldn't make it down which was disappointing. There was great fishing and beautiful sunsets off the dock, we could even hear the loons!! This was a great cabin and we really enjoyed our stay!

Perfect Trip for the “up north gang”

Loved staying at this home. We’ve atayed at a variety of cabins over the years and really enjoyed different aspects of this vacation; lakes everywhere for fishing; less so for playing I. The beach, but the theater room was a fun add and did get used. Thank you!!!!
