Our beautiful Thatch Cottage has 10 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms of which 5 are en-suite. It has a large, generous garden and borders protected woodland. The center-piece is the stunning, enclosed courtyard with plenty of seating, a large beautiful pool and an 8 person jacuzzi! The property has 2 fully equipped kitchens, a breakfast room, a barn area with dining for 22 people ideal for a celebration dinner. There is also a gas BBQ in the garden. There are 2 wood burning stoves and the house has two lounge areas with large smart TV's and Xbox, which provides plenty of indoor entertainment. A fully equipped utility room with washing machine and dryer makes your holiday a pleasant experience.

We have a garden chalet with a sun terrace that serves as a games room. The chalet has a professional 7 foot slate-bed pool table, darts and outdoor table tennis. We also provide a selection of outdoor games for activities in the large, enclosed garden.

Please note the pool is open approximately May-September. The pool is heated by solar panels and air-source heat pump so the pool temperature is weather dependent. The Jacuzzi is hot and available all year. The pool has a safety cover preventing people falling in the pool. It is easy to use as the cover has an easy automatic opening/closure mechanism. Not only does the cover keep the pool cleaner but also the temperature warmer!

We only provide one set of towels for each person, please bring extra for swimming pool and spa.

In the enclosed courtyard you will find sofas, chairs and sun loungers. In the garden there are plenty of outdoor sitting and eating areas. The large, enclosed garden is an ideal playground for children and pets, and provides plenty of room for outdoor games. In the garden there is a beautiful fish pond with large mature Koi.

Kindly note that we have a minimum stay of 7 nights during the summer period. Shorter stays (minimum 3 nights) are possible from mid-September to mid-April, excluding the holiday season.

We have an on premise fully licensed pub serving local beer and other alcoholic beverages for the private use of our guests. Timo has a Personal License and will open and staff the pub by request. Please ask us for more details.

Being on the Dorset Hampshire border, you have access to lots of pub and restaurant possibilities. For fun family activities, Moors Valley Country Park and Avon Heath Country Park is less than 10 minutes drive away. The award winning Blue Flag beaches of Bournemouth and Poole are a 20 minutes drive away. The New Forest with charming Pubs and endless possibilities for walking, cycling and exploring is less than 10 minutes away by car! Follow the New Forest Taste Trails by bike, on foot or on hoof, sampling local ice creams, ploughman's lunches, cream teas and seafood along the way. Paultons Theme Park with Peppa Pig world and Lost Kingdom (Dinosaurs and rides) is also only 30 min away. The charming town of Salisbury and its medieval cathedral and the iconic prehistoric stone circle at Stonehenge is 20 miles away, making it perfect for a day trip!

The whole experience was wonderful. The pool, although cold was well used, followed by a dip in the hot tub. The little private pub was a hit, along with the games room. A beautiful venue for special ocasions. Comfortable rooms, lovely grounds and helpful hosts. Altogether amazing.

Ideal for our family get together and was helped by great weather. We were all sorry when we had to leave. The kids loved and made full use of the pool and everyone enjoyed the hot tub. The pub and games room were great features and were well used. Only one small point was that there were some dirty trays left in the oven. Would highly recommend for a similar group.

The facilities offered by the Thatched Cottage are excellent. The pool area was fantastic and much enjoyed by the whole of our 3 generation family. The house was huge and there were plenty of areas around the property to sit and relax and eat together.

Family Holiday

Our second visit in 6 years. The property is ideal for a large family. Check in was easy and on time. Kitchen was functional ( could do with sharper knives for chopping). The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Loved the pub in the garden and outside space. The only criticism would be that the pool was quite cold especially for the smaller children (lips were turning blue!). Maybe a refurb of a fresh lick of paint to the interior. Overall we had a super holiday and would highly recommend.

We celebrated my husbands 70th with ages from 5-70 . A great time was had by all . Great pool (could have been a bit warmer!) pool room & for extra end of evening cosy factor & sing along the bar in the garden was great. Great communication from Timo & Elina when they were needed for anything !

Highly Recommend this gorgeous property!

We recently stayed at this incredible property in Bournemouth as a family group of 14, and it exceeded all our expectations. The house is extremely spacious with fantastic communal areas that made it perfect for entertaining and spending quality time together.One of the standout features was the amazing pool area—luckily, we had sunny weather all weekend and were able to make full use of it. The pool table, darts board, and the outdoor bar (complete with a TV and sound system) added to the fun and made sure there was something for everyone to enjoy.The grounds were beautifully maintained and could be fully enclosed, which was ideal for our dogs to roam safely.Timo, the property owner, gave us a warm welcome with a helpful tour upon arrival. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay.We had the most enjoyable weekend in such a beautiful setting and are already looking forward to returning as a family. Highly recommended!

Husbands 60th Birthday

We had a weekend at this property to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. There were 10 adults and 4 dogs.We had a fabulous time. The property is beautiful, plenty of space for us all, a wonderful enclosed garden for the dogs, the weather was great so we were able to use the pool and hot tub. The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need. The hosts were great at communicating with us, and Timo was extremely helpful and easy going.We didn't want to leave and would certainly hope to return again. Highly recommended.

Excellent stay

We booked the property to celebrate my Mother in law's 80th birthday and it couldnt have been any better. The sizeable property had everything we needed along with plenty of space for our party of 21 to spread out. The hot tub was a real hit with everyone and the games room fired up the competitve spirit in some. We had fabulous weather for the weekend we were there at the beginning of March, but not warm enough to use the pool! We were able to get out and about in the local area and recommend the Moors Valley Country Park, especially if you have children as there is lots to do to wear them out. Catering wise, we had a very goodmeal at the Three Legged Cross pub, which is 1 mile from the property, so easily walkable. the 2nd night we cooked in the house which was easy thanks to the great stock of pots and pans and the multiple ovens. On the final night we had a takeaway delivered in, from one of the nearest towns. A final mention goes to Timo who was an excellent host, there to let us in and show us around. In contact throughout to check that all was satisfactory and whether we needed anything. All in all, I can't recommend this place enough if you're looking for a large property for a group holiday or special celebration. I hope to return one day and use the pool!

Family Christmas Getaway

Beautiful thatched cottage, large enough to accommodate 4 generations over the Christmas period. Great communication with the property manager, always very responsive and willing to call round and answer any questions. Easy access to the hot tub was especially appreciated. Location of the property is excellent to access activities without a long drive. We stayed 11 days and didn't run out of things to do and places to visit. Generally furnished to a high standard, but perhpas a couple of the beds could benefit from replacement mattresses. We visited in Winter and could see how special this property would be in the summertime. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay.

Some improvements needed

Whilst we had a wonderful weekend with the family and the pool area was very much a highlight. We were very much disappointed by the lack of detail and finesse for the price of the property. We had booked the property to treat and host our family and at times this proved rather difficult and left us feeling incredibly let down. Despite the property accommodating several guests, there were a total of 2 teaspoons and not enough crockery/cutlery to cater the 13 guests we had staying. Whilst the kitchen area was well equipped, it is a rather small space which proved challenging when trying to cater for a large number of guests. This was exacerbated but the distance between the main kitchen and second kitchen area. The ice maker was not working and no dishwashers tablets or coffee pods provided. Similarly, whilst all guests reported their beds to be comfortable, some the of the basics such as adequate sized towels/bath sheets, quality toilet paper and toiletries such as shower gel were not provided. The lighting in the lounge/hall area was pretty poor which at times proved hazardous with the small steps in the hallway. Whilst the host had placed hazard tape on the step, this was incredibly worn and there were a few tumbles over the weekend. We were fortunate to be blessed with nice weather, however when dining outside some of our guests clothes were stained due to the rust on some of the garden furniture. Overall this property did not meet the description or our expectations.

Fabulous!

We booked Thatch Cottage for a family celebration to cater for a party of 16 and were not disappointed. Despite the weather, we had an amazing long weekend, with all ages making full use of the indoor and outdoor space and facilities (especially the games/pool room, bar and swimming pool/jacuzzi). Timo was so helpful throughout and on hand to meet us on arrival. Would have no hesitation recommending this wonderful house.

Lovely property. A few maintenance problems could have been addressed before arrival.e.g rickety hand rail to pool. Also felt a few niceties would have been welcome. E.g a welcome pack,shampoo and coditioner in the bathrooms,considering the overall cost of the property. DDog owners beware of Ticks

Nine adults and 6 young children all had a great time. Only one day warm enough for the pool but lots to do locally for kids and within an hours drive. House very well provisioned and wanting for nothing except very localised WiFi. Would go back.

Lovely place but dreadful if you need to communicate while on vacation. We found some very dirty kitchen items and many broken this & that's. Kitchen lamp not working, bedside light buzzing all night, showers need descaling as do not work properly. Etc ..... could do with a proper check over and upgrade. Also, please don't say you have wifi in here on your advert .... it is intermittent at best so be honest and your customers may not feel cheated into choice as we do .....
