The 9.7/10 rating for Best Friends and Family Hangout were very misleading. For the price, we expected a clean, well‑maintained property, and that was not our experience.Upon arrival, the washer and dryer were still full of the previous guests’ laundry, and the unit had not been properly cleaned. The welcome book instructed guests to start a load of laundry and run the dishwasher before checkout, but this was impossible given the situation. There was also no dishwasher soap provided, forcing us to hand‑wash dishes.Within minutes of arriving, the kitchen sink handle came off. I repaired it myself using tools I brought. When I notified the property manager, Brandon, the response indicated the issue had already been reported by prior guests, with no apology or acknowledgment that it should have been fixed before our stay.Other issues included a misleading “2.5 bathroom” listing — the half bath was located in a locked outdoor storage area — stove grates that didn’t fit the stove, cleanliness issues (including visible hair buildup), a non‑functioning sink stopper, and dirty or broken kitchen items.The backyard was also poorly maintained, with a rusted, unsafe grill, loose railing, and torn labels still attached to the chairs.With proper cleaning, accurate listing details, and basic maintenance, this property could be decent. However, given the price and high rating, we expected significantly better.
