Downtown Bliss

  • This charming 1800’s Victorian duplex used to be our worst place. That is, until it underwent an extensive renovation that was completed in summer of 2023. It retains its historic charm with original wooden doors, a bedroom fireplace (now decorative only), and its location on a quiet cobblestone street. However, it was thoughtfully modernized with new plumbing, electric, flooring, appliances, and light fixtures and is decorated in a timeless style with a nod to its heritage but in no way retro. This downstairs 2 bedroom 2 bath duplex has lots of historic charm. You enter the duplex from the back of the house into the cozy living room that has comfortable seating and a large smart TV. The primary suite has a queen bed with hybrid mattress, TV, decorative original fireplace, and spacious private bathroom with a tile shower. The bright and airy second bedroom is in the front of the house and has a queen bed with hybrid mattress and TV. The second bathroom is located under the staircase but is surprisingly roomy and has a tiled shower.

    The large eat-in kitchen with seating for 4 is outfitted with all new appliances, including a gas stove, dish washer, and washer/dryer laundry center. It includes cookware, dishes, and kitchen basics and includes a coffee bar, bottled water, and some snacks.

    The back porch has 4 rocking chairs and overlooks the backyard garden and is a perfect place to relax.

    This duplex is just a stone’s throw to downtown Wilmington, so you can walk to downtown and enjoy the historic north end of downtown. Off street parking is included (small and mid sized cars only as the driveway is narrow) and there is always plenty of street parking for larger vehicles, vehicles pulling a trailer, or additional vehicles. Located a short pleasant walk to the riverwalk, restaurants, breweries, museums, entertainment, and more. Just a 30 minute drive to the beaches.

    Checkout: Checkout is 11am, but we can offer late checkout as availability allows. 12pm checkout is $20, and 1pm checkout is $30. Please contact us first and if we can accommodate your late checkout, we will be happy to.

We had a wonderful stay. Everything was clean and the place is super cute. We were able to walk to lots of places. The parking in the back was very convenient as well.

Everything was great. Beautiful, clean property and the host was very responsive when we got in touch. Walking distance to Riverwalk, food and entertainment. Honestly can't think of any downside to this place.

My husband and I vacationed with my sister and brother-in-law. This was the perfect place! Two very comfortable bedrooms and clean bathrooms. The living room and kitchen were inviting and allowed for a nice place to be together during the stay. The location was wonderful…a quiet street with an easy walk to the riverfront and downtown for dinner, shopping, and the sunset. We would definitely choose this place again for another Wilmington visit. Thank you!

Great place to stay, quiet neighborhood and super nice neighbors. Home was exactly as stated in description, with exception to parking. Parking was in rear of property, and a little tight driving back to parking for a full size vehicle; but plenty of parking behind home. Will stay again for next trip to area.

This house is in a great location-- walkable to downtown yet on a nice quiet tree lined street with quaint historic homes. The property is beautifully maintained and the apartment is so well decorated. The full sized kitchen is great so you don't have to eat out for every meal. They really thought of everything.

My stay at Downtown Bliss was exceptional. The home was very clean l. The neighborhood was very quiet. River Walk and other attractions are very close by. Shopping and restaurants were all within 15 minutes or less. Curt, our host, was very helpful, and responded quickly to any questions I had. At the rear of the home there was ample space for parking.

Host communicated well throughout our stay. The property was beautiful and parking was convenient. We were close to everything... We didn't walk, but had no problems with parking around town. We absolutely would stay here again.

Appreciated the easy check-in and check-out processes. Loved that my cleaning fee meant I didn't have to clean too much before leaving. Comfortable beds, spacious, waters in the fridge when we arrived, light snacks, and very close to downtown!

The apartment has an ant problem in the kitchen that needs to be addressed. Otherwise, we enjoyed it - very clean and comfortable. Overall, the neighborhood was good and we walked downtown from the apartment. The bed was comfortable and everything worked well. But if there are light sleepers in your party, you can hear the people upstairs talking and walking above you.

Relaxing Gathering

My friend and I enjoyed our much needed girl weekend. It was peaceful, quiet and relaxing. Location was perfect!
