NUEVO LISTADO: nuestra cabaña se llama "The Rock" porque está ubicada en el escudo canadiense y se encuentra en una enorme colina con vista al valle de Ottawa. Una de las mejores maneras de ponerse en contacto y apreciar la belleza del desierto canadiense es en su propia cabina con una gran vista del valle. Esta propiedad es muy privado en 17 hectáreas. Usted conduce a la cabina en un camino privado a aproximadamente 5 km a través del bosque, a menudo viendo ciervos temprano en la mañana o al atardecer, así como otros animales salvajes. La cabina es 16'x24 'con un loft poco profundo arriba. Hay una cama doble en la planta baja y doble y colchones individuales arriba. Tiene una estufa de leña para las mañanas frías o después de un chapuzón por la noche. Hay hidro por lo que hay luz por la noche y un refrigerador con un congelador para su tienda de comestibles. También hay una cabaña para "niños" en la propiedad que duerme 3. Para llegar a la costa, está a 155 'debajo de la cabina, necesita un vehículo con tracción en las cuatro ruedas y use nuestra carretera privada o camine por un sendero. Nuestro lago, Muskrat Lake, es profundo, pero increíblemente cálido. Puede bucear o saltar desde el muelle. Nuestra cabaña cuenta con senderos privados de ATV y se conecta con 500 kms de RCATV senderos, así como estar a sólo 15 minutos del sistema de senderos de Quebec ATV. Estamos ubicados cerca de Pembroke, a unos 12 minutos en coche de la autopista. El rafting en aguas bravas de clase mundial está a solo 10 minutos. Ottawa es de aproximadamente 1. 5 horas de distancia. Otras atracciones ... cuevas, Algonquin Park y tirolesa y mucho más o mejor aún, quédate aquí. Nota pontón barco no está incluido. No hay agua septiembre-mayo.

Came with a few friends and my dog. We had a great stay! It was exactly what we were looking for - something remote and rustic. Still had everything we needed - working wifi, an (outdoor) shower with warm water, a clean outhouse, a lovely dock on the water, plenty of firewood, and close enough to town. The views are amazing. Laurie and Kevin were super helpful and communicative.

Stayed with my boyfriend for 5 nights and our stay was absolutely perfect! Everything about the property was gorgeous, the owners were great and prompt with replying. Close to town, which had a ton of stores to choose from. Will definitely be booking again next time we’re in the area!

The property, the back roads to the property, the view, and the lake and space by the lake are all amazing! The cabin is really lovely, too - once I got used to the water running into a bucket and needing to be dumped, I could have lived there. The fire pits were fun and it was great to be able to take the canoe out. There are lots of unfinished projects, metal detritus, etc all over the property which are eyesores and a shame in the woods. Laurie was great and brought me a couple things that were missing from the kitchen. Kevin however greeted us at arrival with complaints about how annoying/stupid past guests had been and didn’t answer important messages I sent, making me feel like I should stop asking questions. For example, the big foam floating mat at the dock had ripped, had huge protruding nails and was blowing away. He never did anything about it so I finally moved it myself and let him know - never got a response and sprained my wrist trying to move and secure it.

If you are looking for a step up from camping on a large private lot, this is the place for you. You do need to bring your own bedding, including blankets. Best to bring food prepared and already washed as the water source is only rain water from the tap. We were very happy with how responsive the owner was to any questions we had. We also appreciated not seeing anyone for the entire three days we were there! Loads of birds to watch and nice hiking in the area.

My wife and I booked a little get away at The Rock to unwind for a few days as our work schedule has been very hectic. We were also celebrating our 20 Anniversary. Kevin the property owner was great! He told us all about the property and how everything worked. He also gave us some information about the ATV trails in the area. We enjoyed our peaceful time at The Rock and soaked in the amazing view from the Cliffside fire pit. We would love to make it back sometime!

If you are looking for a spot to get away from life’s daily hustle, this is the place to stay. Breath taking views all around. Quaint cabin has all you need. The water was warm and you can fish right off the dock. Laurie and Kevin were very hospitable and quick to respond with any questions we had. Our only complaint was our week went by too quickly.

Haven't been able to something so authentic since I was a young - fat more than 50 years ago. While fancy cottages are just fine, to me this IS CANADA... (caps. intended)... The views, the night skies - no light pollution here A bit of a stretch for an old body, but the childhood memories totally worth it. MAJOR COMPLAINT: Outdoor toilet did not have Sears catalogue pages, or mandarin orange wrappers... Would go back, if only to hug Laurie and Kevin..

Overall we had fun but I feel the description of “Rustic” was relied on to heavily to describe this cottage for the price. We stayed for a week in the summer and fully accepted the notion of a rustic experience as described (eg outhouse). The view was amazing and the owners helpful. However, when renting a “rustic” cottage somethings that we found less than appealing and beyond rustic were: old building materials left around property, as well as a water heater, missing cutlery, a car shelter frame in the outdoor eating area, poor electrical, no drain for the sink, no gangway for the dock rather scrambling and jumping onto dock. This last point was manageable for our family but this, the STEEP hike up/down from cabin to water and the amazing lookout location of the fire pit makes this rental, in my opinion, unsuitable for those with young children or people with any sort of mobility issues. The location was right for us, with plenty of options to explore the area at good travel times, and the owners were very responsive. The weather changed from hot and muggy during the stay to chilly evenings, so the wood stove was a very nice feature. Given the issues above I don’t feel it was worth the money spent.

Definitely rustic, but amazing views with the amazing quiet of the outdoors. If you want a true getaway, this is it! The toilet (outhouse) and shower (tent) aren’t ideal, but the amazing views and times spent relaxing with the lake breeze coming across are phenomenal. We had an amazing stay!
