"Very rustic. Don’t expect much and you will be okay with this place. The bed and bathroom linens were quality. The floor was tile which I think is far better than a soiled carpet. The room was fairly clean. Check-in was unorthodox but worked out in the end. You get a microwave but are not allowed to cook in the room. There is a small fridge and a coffee maker. The electric heat unit is on the ceiling which protects it from damage I guess, but as heat is known to rise… Continental breakfast...

"Standing at the desk I could smell cigarette smoke and had a headache before I had finished checking in. The hall we had to walk through to get to our non-smoking room was very strong with smoke. When we got into our room, it smelled nice, but after being in it for a while, cigarette smoke was wafting in. The fridge, microwave and sheets were clean, but the walls were smeared with dirt. "The property was nothing like what was advertised. There was graffiti, dumpsters and garbage all around the building and it appeared that they rented units out long term to low income (flags in windows instead of curtains, etc.). The attached liquor store, bar, restaurant and pub (all also covered in graffiti) were the most prominent part of the hotel as you approached. One was left wondering if they rented some rooms by the hour ."

"The only thing going for this property is the location close to the University hospital. The door was locked when we arrived. I phoned and a 12 year old let us in. His information on my updated booking was not up to date, even though I had phoned a week prior to confirm with the owner my booking changes. So, he had to call the parent who took 15-20 minutes to arrive to straighten it out. There was NO hot water in the shared bathroom. None. It was turned off! I was reluctant to attempt taking a...
