Depending on where your room is located, you will hear the garbage trucks removing trash at 6:00am. In the evening the glass recycling bin is also next to the dumpster and you will hear many glass bottles being deposited as staff members finish cleaning up. Unfortunately the whole room shakes whenever any bus or large vehicle travels down the road. Trying to sleep with a shaking bed took some getting used to. Breakfast was disappointing. I expected better with the additional cost. No Bananas or Apples, just a selection of sliced fruit. One morning, I asked for more yogurt but they had ‘run out’! The map, suggestions and free drink were a nice added touch. Cons were that the bathroom door didn’t lock, there wasn’t any hair conditioner or face cloths. "We’ve stayed at Roxburghe many times in the past but it’s not the same. Since sold to the schloss and Hyatt group it has lost its charm. We will not go back and we will cherish our memories of its past charm."
