Crystal clear lake with a private beach and gorgeous views

Smaller (90 acres) full recreational lake with great swimming and fishing in a relaxing setting. Water level is returning to normal levels so a wake is allowed from 10am-4pm daily. Lakeside beach house has been raised out of the water and structurally restored. Interior restoration is complete with new flooring, paneling and window trim. New fans and lights have also been installed. There is a mini fridge to store drinks and bait as well. House has a master suite with private bath and two bedrooms with a second full bathroom and shower. Private 3 season screened porch and private deck provide stunning sunset views and a place to play games after dark. One car garage provides area for storage and there is plenty of off street parking.

We had the best time ever in August 2025! The best part was the lake - warm water, sandy beach & lake bottom, and clear water. You can’t beat the views from the house or down by the beach. We loved having access to the canoe, 2 kayaks, a paddle boat, and many pool toys/noodles! This home would be great for all ages as long as you can do a few stairs. We loved the variety of sitting areas: little cabin on the sandy beach, picnic table on the beach, bench on the pier, big kitchen table for meals and game nights, big living room with 2 recliners, screened in porch, a deck overlooking the lake, and a front deck with chairs. We also laid on the pier for stargazing and watching the Perseid meteor shower. This location was great for walking our small dog. Wautoma itself was a real gem! We went tubing at Pliska’s Crystal River Tubing, got 3rd in trivia at Trading Post on Wednesday, went for ice cream at Milty Wilty’s, went hiking at Bohn Lake State Natural Area, had tasty pizza at Christiano’s, and went for fish fry and clam chowder at Moose Inn. We would recommend all of that! We enjoyed seeing hawks, hummingbirds, deer, a black squirrel, and turtles. We have been to many lake vrbo’s and this was our favorite due to the warm, clean, sandy lake! The owner was helpful and responsive! Check in and check out went well. The kitchen was well-equipped! Great water pressure and air conditioning. Loved our trip!

Loved all of the sitting areas near the beach, in the house, the screened in porch, and the deck!

Check in was easy, AC was nice since it was really hot outside. Lake is beautiful. We really enjoyed the bunkhouse by the lake… great for playing games. Screen room and deck are nice with great views. Only issue was lack of water pressure which owner did his best to fix during our stay.

Hills Lake!

Water was beautiful! We enjoyed the Lilly pad water pad. AC worked great, kitchen was well stocked and easy to cook in.

Overall our stay was great. Getting the key was a bit different as the lock box that it was in would not open. The back door was open so we entered that way. Never were able to get the key out. Water was amazing and warm and clean. Would stay again as it was just what we had hoped for.

Good lake for a family

My family stayed for our annual trip and the lake was beautiful and sandy so great for swimming and a relaxed stay. The house had a lot of the comforts of home. The only things I'd say would be that it appears cleaning is to some degree left up to the renters, so there were some areas lacking there. Also the boat house looks a bit structurally sketchy on the outside but we spent time in it and didn't have any issues. Overall it was a good time

Nice getaway

Owner was great & let us check in early. Unfortunately previous tenants hadn’t cleaned per owners specifications & we had to clean upon check in & then we also had to clean upon checkout. But lake was peaceful & enjoyable & we enjoyed our stay. Bring extra tp, hand soap & dish soap & extra towels.

Relaxing retreat

Nice quiet place during the week. Area got loud on the weekend as is typical for lake homes. The "no wake" on the lake made it very comfortable to allow the grandkids to explore on the paddleboat and in the kayaks. Current accommodations are more suitable for 10 versus 12. Will be an excellent property when lakeside bunkhouse construction is completed.

Lake House Treasure

Absolutely loved our week at this lake house. The lake is clear with beautiful views. Swimming, kayaking, & canoeing were so peaceful on this no-wake lake. (Bring lots of towels!) Coffee in the morning on the dock and a little fishing was the best way to start your day. The bunkhouse will be a nice addition when ready. Currently no electricity, so no fan for hot days. The house was typical of an older lake place. If you can overlook the imperfections that go along with it, it is comfortable and definitely value priced. Besides playing in the lake, we enjoyed taking walks, grilling almost every night, and playing cards and games. Wish we could have stayed longer!
