  • If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful up north getaway, look no further! Nested on 5 wooded acres, this house offers a beautiful setting without close neighbors, but not without comfort and amenities. We pride ourselves in providing comfortable beds, fully stacked kitchens, and everything that guests need to feel fully at home, even if it is for a short vacation!
    Go explore the woods, relax on the outdoor patio near the fireplace or enjoy the multiple outdoor games left at your disposal (ladder ball, badminton, cornhole), you will truly feel on vacation and will be able to reconnect with nature.

    This house is also located only 5 min from downtown Wausaukee where you will find shops and restaurants. It is also very close to multiple outdoor activities:
    - Long Lake
    If you bring your own boat or Kayaks, Long Lake has a public boat launch and is located only 5 minutes from the house.
    - Dave’s fall (about 10min drive)
    This park includes upper and lower falls with unique rock formations. Plenty of paths, rocks, and nature to climb through during your visit. This park offers a playground, picnic area and hand pump water.
    -12 Foot falls park is about 15-20 min drive
    Beautiful park with 3 waterfalls, 8ft, 12ft and 18ft falls.
    For nice sandy beaches:
    • Little Newton Lake Beach: About 20 min away, this lake is very pretty and has a beautiful sandy beach
    • Boat Landing 9 on Caldron Falls reservoir: About 25min away, this is a very nice spot to go swimming. There are also a lot of other things to do in that area (see below)
    • Twin Bridge Park: About 30min away. There are also cliffs from where you can jump in the water.
    • Lake Noquebay Beach : About 15min away. This beach is sandy.

    - Governor Thompson State Park and the Peshtigo River State Forest surrounding High Falls & Caldron Falls Flowages
    You will find various hiking trails, water falls, and the sandy beach on Boat landing 9. Boat landing 12 is also very pretty. You can tube down from Kozir’s restaurant and Boat landing 12 if you bring your own tube and park at both location.

    - Whitewater Rafting
    Kosir’s Rafting and offers guided trips on the Peshtigo River and the Menominee River from early April through Labor Day weekend.

Nice place for a small group

had a fishing trip planned in the area and was looking for a nice place to stay. the place can fit three adults comfortably if some don’t mind using the bunkbeds and four if using the pullout.outdoor fireplace was great for dinner and adult beverages.

Perfect secluded getaway spot!

We needed a place to stay for a family event in Wausaukee and this place was perfect for our needs! Easy to find, owners were quick to respond to questions. Extremely clean. Couldn’t have asked for better.

Quiet and comfortable

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was quiet with no neighbors which was nice as we wanted a peaceful and relaxing weekend. It was only a 5 minute drive to town for supplies which was convenient. The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. It had everything we needed and the owners made the process easy. We would stay here again.

Our stay at cedar retreat!

There are so many wonderful things I could say about our stay but it would take too long. I will say that Jessica (the hostess) is very accommodating and she responds to all quesion and concerns in a very timely manner. She was there for us every step of the way. There were eve some issues with the internet in the beginning, but even though its not a necessity she went above our expectations by taking it to the next level. We would love to stay again. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
