Nice apartment, transport necessary, poorly managed by concierge service
It’s a lovely apartment but the location is not quite as well situated as it seems. The surrounding properties are a little run down but there’s a decent view from the upper floor and it has a lawn. There was no BBQ but the apartment had all appliances you would need inside. If enjoying the public beaches, you will need beach blankets and a cold bag (purchasable from the local supermarket). I requested this and extra sheets from the concierge service who manages the property but unfortunately they got this confused with another property so it was not ready to use on our arrival, however they went out of their way to supply this the following day. That was sadly the only day we got to enjoy the beaches as Hurricane Ernesto was directly approaching the island. Our airline informed us that they were cancelling our flights due to this danger and scheduling us on an earlier one to get out before the storm hit. This meant our holiday had been cut short by a day and what remained was very wet and dull. Upon immediately informing the property management through VRBO and requesting a refund for the unused night in the circumstances, the immediate response was no. In tandem with the first mistake and the location that is further from shops and beaches than we thought (necessitating transport rental) and with no safe place to walk, this was sufficient for us to not wish to return to this property in the future. They subsequently relented after raising it with VRBO though begrudgingly.
