The availability for linens in the middle of the night, plenty of ice for my knees' ice bags, and protein at breakfast (hard-boiled eggs, peanut butter) all helped so much.The design of the bedroom & bath were smart -enclosed beneath the mattresses, sink outside the bathroom, and outlets easily accessible.
