The home is very nice and is convenient for a gathering of family and/or friends. The yard is not groomed but the fire pit is a nice addition for evenings around the fire and for making s'mores. The lid on the hot tub was broken but was being replaced. All in all a nice stay for our family!

We had a really lovely stay at this home. The kitchen was very well stocked, had all updated appliances and was fun for our group to cook in. The theater was also a fun bonus too! The main attraction though is the view outside. We had many outdoor meals and sat around the campfire in the evenings (just don't forget the bug spray if you come out in the summer because of the mosquitos!). Would love to come out to visit again, thank you!

Great family stay

We stayed at this house with another family and it. was a good set up for two families of four. The kitchen is really well stocked and easy to use (we were able to make thanksgiving dinner). Wonderful view. We had a great time.

Beautiful updated home in Waldport

My family and some college friends families stayed here for a weekend get together. The kids loved the theater room and the whole downstairs area. The hot tub was great and there was more than enough space for our big group. The open kitchen and living/dining room was great for preparing big meals, and we really enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen. Communication with Sam was great. We would definitely stay again!

Family Gathering

This year we had 8 family members meet in Waldport, OR with our 5 other family from the local community. Ever appreciated the space and comfortable accommodations at the Hillside Home....we had wonderful dinners prepared by our outstanding in house chefs and hours of delightful laughter doing card games. A good time was had by all. Everyone is already looking forward to getting together next year!

Beautiful Oregon

Road to house is horrible. We got stuck which resulted in a $200 tow and flat tire and a need for a new rental. The owner was very helpful on getting us to the car rental place. I would also like to say that the owner is working on the road situation and hopefully this is a short term problem. Sam was very responsive and I strongly recommend this house.

Fantastic Experience

Sam was always very prompt and helpful, the location was gorgeous, and we had a lot of fun with the theater on site. Our only complaints were small and always taken care of by reaching to Sam. Would happily stay again!

Hillside getaway

Our recent family reunion was made more enjoyable by the comfort and accommodations of this home. The great room served as our gathering area for meals and evening card games. The house was well furnished with large bedrooms and comfortable beds. The hot tub was enjoyed by the visiting grandchildren, as was the theatre room. The adults enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings as the weather was mild and warm. Beautiful views of the sunset and surrounding areas from hillside home. Our host Sam was very responsive and easy to work with. We are planning on returning next year for a reunion and looking forward to staying here again. I did relay to our host that I felt more attention should be made on maintaining the grounds but that we were very happy with the the home itself.

Great place to stay

The property was great. Secluded and fun to be in the forest with the beach just a few miles away. The house could use a good deep clean (under couches, windows, dusting, etc). We also ran out of paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags) but we had a group of ten and stayed almost a whole week. The hot tub was clean and fun, we loved the fire pit, and overall it was a fun house to stay at. Sam was very easy to get in contact with and very helpful.

Great place for large group

We loved this house! All the amenities for a long weekend, hot tub, movie theater, large kitchen table, very comfortable beds. Appreciated the kitchen fully stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc. Close to Newport and Yachats for shopping and beaches. Can't wait to go back again. Owner was always quick to answer our questions as well.

Lovely great room and good host communication

We had a lovely stay at this VRBO. We had 5 adults, 1 teen and a child and the house was very comfortable for all of us. The beautiful main room was a huge highlight - great for cooking, dining, relaxing, puzzles and enjoying the view! The beds were very comfortable and we also loved the cool theater room!! Sam was a great communicator and was quick to respond to questions. For the price, we would have expected the house to be a bit cleaner - while the main spaces were clean, the house could use a deep clean (baseboards, window tracks, exterior maintenance, etc.). There were also a few quirks (shower door came out of its track, windows would get stuck/not lock, no racks or shelves in bedrooms, etc.) that were easy to deal with but unexpected given the price. Sam was very kind and responsive regarding the issues we noticed. Also a couple things to note: the great room and three upstairs bedrooms share a full bathroom (master bedroom also has a half bathroom); the bedroom downstairs with the bunk bed is next to a full bathroom. The yard is not maintained/watered during the summer (which makes sense on the coast) so the backyard grass is all dead in the summer months - didn't stop us from playing catch out there, but just different than the grass pictured in the photos. All in all we had a great trip and are grateful to have stayed in this home!

Great view! We really enjoyed our stay at your lovely home. It was clean and comfortable. Our family particularly liked the home theater and the hot tub. The home is very roomy and guest friendly, however, closet rods and a bench or dresser would be a nice addition to the secondary bedrooms.

One of our BEST VRBO experiences EVER!

Sam the owner, was an outstanding host! The property was as advertised. We enjoyed watching the sunset while sitting around the backyard fire pit while in the hot tub. Awesome day and night views of the ocean and river. The property was secluded enough for privacy and close enough to amenities and activities for our family have some great Pacific Northwest coast and coastal forest experiences! We will be back!

Private Oasis

This place was perfect for our get away. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of prep room. The kids loved the theater, and there are also two large screen tvs so everyone could watch whatever they wanted. The hot tub was welcome after long days of sightseeing and beach combing. The beds are comfortable. Our host communicated quickly and accurately to address all concerns. I highly recommend this property.

Fun Property - Great Communication

We had a lovely quick family get away - the kids love the theater in the garage and my wife and I enjoyed the hot tub. Great "home base" location for day trips on the OR coast both north and south on HWY101.
