Tropical cottage with fresh rain water hot tub close to Volcanoes National Park

  • Enjoy the fresh rainwater hot tub after a long day's hike.  The hot tub is drained, sanitized, and refilled with fresh triple-filtered, chemical-free rainwater between each booking.  This cozy cottage is in the heart of Volcano Village with luxury features such as a heated towel bar and heated bathroom floor.  Only a few miles from Volcanoes National Park, and half a mile from the Sunday morning farmers market. Included with each stay is a gift basket with local products and samples. This rental has it's own direct internet connection.

    This is a rainforest, so you will probably experience a shower or two on your adventure. Being a rainforest there are coqui frogs that sing at night that is unique to tropical climates. Please ask for earplugs if they won't allow you to sleep. Also, there are wild pigs. They are not someone's pets or livestock. Usually they are skittish, but mothers are less scared when with their young. The property is fenced and gated for your safety, but they sometimes still find their way in.

    *New amenities include a patio heater, gazebo fan, and a level 2 ev charger compatible with J1772 andTesla Model Y/3/S/X.

    Taxes include transient accommodations tax of 14% (11% Hawaii state plus 3% Hawaii County tax) and general excise tax of 4.712% (4.1885% Hawaii state plus 0.5235% Hawaii County tax)

This tropical cottage far exceeded our expectations! We had a lovely stay and wished we could have stayed longer just to spend more time in this relaxing cottage. There are lots of special details about this place from the kitchen extras, to the interior design, to the lush backyard garden. Garrett was an excellent host and has created a perfect place for visitors to stay. If I could give 6 stars I would! The location is ideal - quick drive to Hawaii Volcanos National Park but secluded and quiet in a beautiful setting. Very comfortable interior including high quality bedding, humidity control and spacious bathroom. And a very nice outdoor garden, patio and hot tub makes it feel like a high end retreat. Highly recommend.

Beautiful little gem

Great property for a romantic getaway. Very clean and tidy in a quiet corner of Volcano Village. Great access to the national park. Excellent overall!

This is the cutest and most well appointed cottage ever! Garret has provided anything you need and some items you didn't realize you needed until you found them. The bed is very comfortable with excellent pillows. Having the windows open to fresh air was so nice. The back patio is another retreat I didn't want to leave! Flowers, hot tub and fish tank. An ultimate restful retreat. Being close to Volcanos Park was perfect. We got lucky enough to see lava fountaining. It certainly was a bucket list item checked off. We will certainly stay here again on our trip next year!

Everything it seemed

We were in love with this cottage from the moment we opened the front door. Every amenity we could have hoped for and more. The hot tub was the perfect end to a long day of hiking.

Wonderful stay!!

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Stained Glass cottage. The rental had every amenity you could ever want. The communication with Garrett before and during the stay was perfect. I would give this place the highest recommendation!

Super comfortable for a couple. Interaction with host was easy and prompt. Cottage was spotless, bed was very comfortable, bathroom was clean with fluffy white towels and useful supplies. The covered garden area was a peaceful space to relax in after a day in the park or on the golf course.

Perfect cottage close to Volcanoes NP

The property and cottage were beautifully landscaped and decorated. Kitchen was fully equipped, bed was very comfortable, easy code access, extras included fresh flowers, snacks, and drinks! We stayed for 3 nights and would highly recommend this lovely Hawaiian cottage to anyone looking to stay close to Volcanoes NP.

Paradise Found!

This cottage was amazing! It was even better than the description stated. A quiet, cozy respite in a tropical setting, with more amenities than you can imagine, this cottage fulfilled all our expectations and then some. From the fully-stocked coffee station to the extremely comfortable bed to the private hot tub, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it.

Lovely luxurious stay

This cottage felt super luxurious with all the amenities and the ultra comfy bed. We had a wonderful time, ready loved the hot tub after a long day at Kilauea, the gardens were beautiful and lush. I especially loved the 'alala themeing of the property, it is what attracted my attention in the first place. Mahalo nui loa!

Great base camp for Puna / Ka'u area

Looking for a place that has everything you need, this is it. Coffee any way you like it, check. Super clean, check. Comfy need, got that too. Close to Volcanoes NP, just down the road. The place was great for our extended weekend away.

Perfection

The cottage was exactly as advertised and exactly as other commenters have mentioned. We were extremely comfortable here and Garret (host) has really taken such great care in creating an exceptional experience. My GF and I spent 2 days hiking all over Volcano until pleasantly exhausted and then we had such a lovely place to relax, unwind, and recover. The garden/gazebo is beautiful and the hot tub is such a nice touch as well. Thanks for an amazing stay, Garret!

Perfect in every way

We came to Hawaii for the holidays to sightsee and visit family, but quickly discovered that all we really wanted to do was stay in at the immaculate, beautifully/very generously appointed Alala. It felt like our hosts had anticipated our every possible want/need/desire. Such a gem, we worry it may never be available to us again. We were more comfortable than in our own home - we didn't want to leave!

Peaceful perfection in Volcano

This was truly the most wonderful place we've ever stayed. The cottage was beautiful and full of thoughtful, artistic details. The private hot tub set amidst lush tropical landscaping was the perfect end to each day, and was a silver lining on the rainy days we experienced. We loved being on a quiet street so close to the park, which made it easy to pop back late at night or early in the morning to look at the eruption without crowds. We'd return in a heartbeat. Thank you for making our vacation so special.

A Lovely Stay in a Garden Paradise

My husband and I stayed at Alala Cottage in Volcano, Hawaii for 3 lovely nights. This small but extremely well outfitted house was even better than expected. The host had thought of everything you will need to enjoy your stay- especially numerous ways to brew your coffee (Keurig, Nespresso, regular coffee pot plus a milk frother!) The gardens were beautiful and included a fish pond as well a hot tub. We spent leisurely mornings enjoying the flora and birdsong. This cottage is obviously close to Volcano National Park but don’t miss a chance to drive to South Point and beaches along the way.

Perfect Visit

My husband and I stayed here for two nights while we hiked around Volcanoes National Monument. Garret was very accommodating and easy to correspond with. It was a very peaceful stay. My favorite part was the outdoor space with the hot tub and table. We ordered food from the local Thai truck and ate it outside. The grounds are amazing, I enjoyed all the different plants for sure. Inside everything was clean and all the little details were thought of. We highly recommend this place and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

We had the best stay in your tropical oasis

The cottage is surrounded by an abundance of tropical plants and stained glass artwork. The kitchen is a coffee lovers dream. Most importantly, the bed was super comfortable! I slept great after long days of hiking at Volcano's NP. The hot tub also felt great after those hikes. If you need to borrow something you forgot, everything you could possibly need; toiletries or an extra beach towels, sunscreen, a back pack cooler, even a yoga mat can be found in the closet. One of my all time favorite houses to have a few nights stay.

The most well appointed and cleanest rental ever!

Located 5 minutes away from Hawai’i Volcano park, I picked the rental for this reason and the hot tub…sounded so dreamy. I will remember it for these reasons but also that this rental was one of the most well appointed, stocked, and cleanest ever! From 3 coffee machines, a wine chiller, camera lens wipes, eye masks, ice cream maker to welcome bottle of wine. Peaceful, beautiful and well designed too. It would be a home want to own! Rent it if you can if you are visiting this location.

Little Slice of Paradise near Volcano Park!

What a beautiful little cottage! Very private feeling. So many gorgeous flowers around the cottage and around the gazebo. The 2-person hot tub was fantastic for relaxing in at night! The California King bed was very comfortable. Bathroom has heated floors and a heated towel rack, great for cool mornings. Many thoughtful goodies left for us, including a nice bottle of local wine. If you’re looking for a special place near Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, this is it!
