The cottage was cute, and impeccably clean. That's a huge plus. There are things the owners need to address sooner rather than later, things that are wearing down and getting tired. The shower head only sprays out of three of the nozzles- this needs thoroughly de-limed or replaced, the range takes a very long time to heat up- it took us an hour to make a simple breakfast, the grill was filthy and there was nothing to clean it with; it's also very rusted and missing most of the heat-regulating elements resulting in very long cooking times and irregular doneness of both tuna steaks and filet mignons, the "stairs" to creek access are treacherous- they are severely tilted, precariously placed cinderblocks and there's no "beach" or landing to pull in or out of... are guests expected to stand in knee-deep running water to drop in and pull out, and lug a heavy kayak up and down the death stairs? It shouldn't be advertised as an amenity with it being so dangerously inaccessible. The pots and pans are beat up and the lids are missing handles and warped so they don't fit anymore. These items needs cleaned up/updated/replaced. Worth noting: this is the only VRBO/ABB I've stayin in that didn't have salt/pepper/foil/baggies... And finally, this is on me for not mapping it out, but this cottage shouldn't be advertised as "Hocking Hills region" as it's an HOUR AND A HALF south of the park; having driven four hours to get to HH, this was an unexpected blow.
