  • Five blocks from downtown Vineyard Haven and Martha's Vineyard ferry terminal, this house sits in a quiet neighborhood close to the new public library and downtown. This home has been thoughtfully renovated, resulting in guests who come again and again. It sleeps 7 guests in 4 bedrooms with 2 baths. Travelers can park two cars in the driveway and leisurely stroll into town for a morning cup of coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, shopping or to catch a bus at the ferry terminal and visit other parts of the Island. Bike rentals are available in downtown Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs.

    The first floor offers a spacious living room with fireplace, game table and cable TV. The dining room opens into a kitchen with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and a breakfast bar. For outdoor eating, the kitchen conveniently opens onto a private and nicely landscaped, bluestone patio with table/chairs/umbrella and BBQ grill. Around the corner is an enclosed outdoor shower for a quick rinse after a sandy day at the beach.

    Sleeping arrangements offer three bedrooms and full bath/shower on the second floor. On the main floor is a fourth bedroom with an adjacent bathroom and ample-sized shower... great for Grandma and Grandpa or guests who may need quiet space.

    Other features include hardwood floors throughout; washer/dryer on the main floor; central air conditioning and WiFi.

    One block away is the public library (being renovated in 2026) with a children's section and programs for rainy days.
    For sports-minded travelers, Mink Meadow Golf Course is up the road, and the VH Yacht Club is a few blocks away. Beautiful Farm Neck Country Club, offering public golf and tennis play in the afternoon to non-members, is 6 miles away. In downtown Vineyard Haven, car, bike and moped rentals are available as is access to the Island-wide bus system. Call ahead for rentals.

    o Ferry reservations should be booked through the Steamship Authority in early January. Tickets are on a first-come, first-served basis. Delaying can lead to being placed on the Wait List and/or leaving your car off-Island at the last minute.
    o IF YOU ARE A FIRST-TIME ISLAND VISITOR, PLEASE BOOK YOUR FERRY TICKETS asap AFTER BOOKING WITH US. Please be aware that juggling ferry travel is the way of Island life. Failing to secure a ferry reservation is not considered a valid reason to cancel your rental or receive a refund.
    o Call the Steamship Authority in late December, 508.477.8600, to learn the exact opening date for ticket sales. Reservations book fast and early. Also ask for information about how and when to submit for tickets. Rules and application forms change from year to year.
    o To rent baby supplies, contact mvbabyrent.com or 508-627-8830.
    o To rent beach gear, call 508-627-8830. There are small beach toys for youngsters, chairs and umbrella in our beach shed. Beach towels are in the first floor bath closet.
    o Bedspreads are rotated frequently. They may appear differently upon arrival from those shown in VRBO photos.
    o Helpful websites for state and local Covid regulations can be found at mass.gov, steamshipauthority.com, and mvy.com.
    o Please advise us if you prefer to use your own linens. We will prepare your beds appropriately for a smooth arrival.

Great Stay

This is the second time we have stayed at this charming house in Vineyard Haven. The property was perfectly clean and maintained and fit our family of seven very well. We love the location and the quick walk into town and to Owen Little Beach, where we had our boat. Thanks for a wonderful vacation.

A comfortable, relaxing place to stay

We had a great trip to Vineyard Haven! The house had everything we could need. It was comfortable and clean—a cool retreat after a hot beach day. It’s close enough to walk to town but tucked away from the chaos. It’s an easy jumping off point to explore many places in the island. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor shower, a relaxing way to end the day!

2nd Time Here

We just returned from our trip to MV for summer 2024 and stayed at this house for the 2nd year in a row. We loved it so much last year, we had to come back. The location is perfect for access to all areas on the island. The house is clean and the communication with Karen/check in process couldn't be easier! we will be back again!

Wonderful stay!

My family (2 adults, 2 kids under 3) traveled with our friends (2 adults + 1 year old) to this property. We had an amazing stay. The home was clean and welcoming. It had all the amenities we needed- kitchen stocked with appliances and extras. The location can’t be beat- 10 min walk to downtown Vineyard Haven. We have stayed in many different properties and locations on MV over the years and this was one of the best. Would definitely return!

Large, Lovely Home in Perfect Condition

Lovely home in perfect condition, absolutely spotless, with all the amenities. We are a family of five, including a tween, a teen, two parents, and a grandma, and this place felt larger than we needed. It was great to have one bedroom on the first floor for grandma and wonderful to have linens and beach towels provided. Also, the listing doesn't mention all the beach equipment in the shed (beach chairs, umbrella, sand toys, etc.) Very helpful as we could not have fit beach chairs into our car (or the linens). Also it's a nice touch to leave coffee for visitors. Highly recommended!

As advertised. Convenient to town. Served 6 comfortably. Family nights on the patio!

Reservations and checkin/checkout were seemless. What stood out: the patio. The location. The outdoor shower. The mud room/storage off the kitchen. Did I say the patio with the grill? The home: As advertised. More functional than pictures suggested. Kitchen and dining room worked well for family meals. Kitchen stocked for every need (even kids utensils for our grand daughter). We did not want for anything during our stay. The living room served as separated quiet space for young adults. Off street parking for 2 vehicles allowed visitors during the day. Plenty of towels AND Beach Towels available Full sized washer and drier was appreciated. Location: we walked to town everyday with a 2 year old. Rented 2 bikes to have available all week (recommend). Used weekly bus pass to get around the island (Edgartown and Oak Bluffs) as well as trips to the beach. Would we rent again? Absolutely! Bedrooms: 2 for adult couples. 2 with 3 twins total. Again - worked well for our family.

The perfect house!

Everything about this house was absolutely perfect for our stay in MV! We traveled with our 2 young kids and their grandma so the private bedroom and bathroom for grandma could not have been better! The house was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. The kids loved playing on the back patio! We walked to town and to the little beach perfect for kids every day! Easy drive to explore the rest of the island. Karen was also great and so communicative! Highly recommend!

Great 2 weeks in Vineyard Haven

We have spent summers on the Vineyard for years and this was our first time staying in VH. This house was wonderful, it was exactly as described and Karen was extremely easy to communicate with and helpful! We loved the proximity to town and the layout of the house. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Great Stay in Vineyard Haven

This is a very clean and roomy house just a short walk to town. Spent most down time on the beautiful secluded patio in the back of the house. Dealing with Karen was easy and she was a great communicator and answered all questions promptly. My family and friends loved our stay in this house and highly recommend it.

Great home and perfect distance to walk to town

We had an amazing stay, the home was very clean and tidy :) The proximity to town was wonderful, we strolled in for lunch or dinner everyday, we could also walk to the small beach and watch the boats coming and going. Highly recommend :)

Our stay at183 Franklin

We stayed at the property August 8-15 2020. The house was just as we hoped, very clean, nicely appointed, and stocked with quality items. Kitchen had whatever you might need… knives big enough to cut up a watermelon safely, salt/pepper and other spices. The central A/C worked well and made sleeping easy. The outdoor area was great for reading a book while others showered after the beach. Walking distance to Vineyard Haven. One person had to work from the house for 3 days. The WiFi did the job. The property manager did everything she could to make it a happy stay.

Awesome Rental

This house was a great location. Very close to town but yet very quiet and serene. The house was spotless. Communication by the owner, Karen, was excellent before our stay and throughout our stay. She was on top of every detail. We arrived to a nice welcome card and a bottle of wine. It was the perfect start to a great week!
