Charming Vashon Island Cottage - Just 3 minutes from the ferry.

  • Enjoy peace and quiet at the Cottage at Useful Bear Farm. Vashon Island has lots to offer year-round: beaches, hiking, biking and bird-watching. Conveniently located near the north-end ferry and close to town where there are wonderful shops and restaurants. The cottage has full kitchen, bathroom and living/dining room on the first floor. Upstairs is a large sleeping loft with queen bed separated by a divider and a trundle bed and sleeper sofa. A portion of the proceeds from the cottage go to local housing programs. Please note, all the beds are on second floor so guests need to be able to use stairs. No pets, please.

Lovely cottage in a quiet setting, the perfect place to unwind. Very close to the town of Vashon but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle.

Sweet place and very comfortable and clean. Steep stairs to bedrooms and bathroom on main floor is something that may be a challenge for some people.

Highly recommend this wonderful place. Close to downtown (but not too close), chickens and deer roam freely, cottage was modernized and very clean. Debra welcomed us on arrival, which was appreciated. We would definitely return next time we visit Vashon.

Sweet place. Came with 6 farm fresh eggs! Right on the bus line to get you to Vashon and either Ferry terminal. Clean, comfortable, and well cared for. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Vashon Island. We really enjoyed the cottage and local hospitality. The nature and scenery were beautiful. We hightly recommend a visit to the troll and surrounding beach. The Thai Restaurant in town was delicious.

The cottage was very comfortable, particularly the beds. You have to be prepared for the for the bathroom being on the lower level and the lack of television but otherwise it was very nice.

I love this place and stay when ever I visit Vashon. The host was gracious when I accidently locked my self out this time. Highly recommend this cottage.

We had an amazing time in this home , my kids loved the place and the atmosphere around this home is amazing , they have chickens in their small farm my kids loved the country feel there and they wanted to stay more time but we spent only one day and the host Debra was really awesome , co-operative and very generous she offered of some eggs from the farm to my kids . Great place to stay .

Strawberry Fest

Great cottage for our family trip and first time on Vashon Island. Peaceful setting with comfy beds and easy access to the north ferry and downtown Vashon. Debra was great with all the info and amenities we needed.
