"Wonderful staff"

"We booked three nights, and left after the first night. The property refunded us the two nights we didn’t stay, which is the least they could do considering the health hazard they pose. We stayed in the Anderson Valley room. Riddled with mold to the point that it triggered an asthma attack. The room clearly had water damage throughout based on the warped floor and the smell. What you’re seeing online is nothing close to reality. The staff that we spoke to over the phone were friendly, but...

"We really enjoyed our stay, it was cozy and charming and close to everything Mendocino. The room was clean but some aspects felt outdated like peeling paint and stains on the carpets. We would definitely stay again!"

"The only place to stay near Mendocino! It’s enchanting and will elevate any vacation. While it’s truly a place to escape and very much geared for adults we had our two older daughters (14 and 11) and they were welcomed and treated like royalty while we were there. The food at the hotel is superb along with the staff. The staff is all local and they all had great recommendations, don’t snooze on everything they tell you to do and eat! We cannot wait to go back!"

"In the 31 years of all the traveling my wife and I have stayed in motels, this was the worst stay! The room was filthy, the tiles were popping up from the floor the shower is so tiny you can barely turn around! Definitely will never stay at this hotel ever again! Also the price of the room for the weekend was outrageous for how low the quality of the stay is! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!"

The food is divine, breakfast was brought to our room each morning after submitting our order, we each had a california eggs benedict, pastries, parfaits and fresh coffee. The beach is 5 minutes walk from your room. The garden is stunning! Dinner was incredibly delicious and the setting so romantic and beautiful. Highly highly recommend Elk Cove Inn we will be coming back again! "
