"This is a quirky hotel steeped in history which me and my husband loved. On arrival our room was not suitable for our needs, this could have been avioded if i had called head ofour stay. The receptionist and alastair massey were fantastic and offered fantastic alternative room within minutes and this was beyond my expectations as it had a four poster bed and very large. This made our stay so much better and we had a fantastic break. Thank you to all."

"Lovely huge room, big comfy bed, fridge in room with a complimentry drink, plenty of tea, coffees & a hot chocolate & biscuits. Warm & cosy with 2 easy chairs. Was cleanish but toilet had bad stains in bottom, skirting boards dirty & not hoovered well, carpet very dirty but winter time & everywhere wet & sludgy, room & bathroom really ready for being decorated looked scruffy. "Had a brilliant few days stay at the cottage, the phrase that comes to mind is home away from home. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. Location for us was perfect with the monsal trail on its doorstep, loads of walking trails nearby and not far from Buxton. Really enjoyed our stay, would highly recommend, thank you"

"Lovely clean room & very little noise from the pub, which was absolutely rocking, on Saturday night. Helpful & friendly staff (who also sorted the heating for us). My Mum had the ground floor ‘accessible’ room as she has trouble with stairs & that’s AMAZING. It’s a great spot to access the town: love Buxton. Our second time there & will be returning. "
