Deer Lake Onyx - Modern Waterfront Cottage

Custom built to enjoy lake views and tall pines surrounding the cottage through floor to ceiling windows. The cottage has an open concept kitchen and living area with a large walk out deck facing the lake. If you like to fish or just enjoy the wildlife on the lake, venture out in the canoe or take the kayaks out for a paddle. The dock is just steps from the dock. This “cottage“ has N/E exposure and a flat level lot allowing you to be close to the refreshing water for swimming or just relax on the sunny dock. .

This is a four-season rental that welcomes snowmobilers or any family seeking a winter retreat!

Only a 15 minute drive away from South River, where you will find grocery stores, restaurants, cafes and anything else that you may need.

Located near snowmobile trails - winter enthusiasts welcome!
Please note we book 7 days during the high season (July-August) bookings from Friday-Friday

Beautiful quiet winter get-away

What a wonderful place! As all guests have noted, the cottage is extremely comfortable and beautiful. On cold winter days the wood stove (and plentifully supplied wood) keeps the house cosy, and the vast glass front to the cottage allows one to feel you are sitting in the woods. In December it was extremely quiet, we didn't see anyone else nearby or on the lake - making for a very remote and relaxing experience. We were able to walk on the frozen lake and along snowy roads, as well as cook in the well-equipped kitchen and hang out comfortably in the open living space. I would recommend this place as a winter getaway to anyone who likes to feel far from everything - it was just perfect.We (and the owners!) had the bad luck of the water pipes failing for pretty much all of our stay (no fault of anyone's... and not likely to happen again I wouldn't think now that things are repaired) - so we had a bit more of rustic week than planned for. Samantha and Rob were, of course, extremely responsive. They gave us the choice of leaving with a full refund for days not stayed, or of providing us with water for us to 'rough it.' Given that this happened over xmas, the level of help and efforts to fix the situation were really stellar. No one wants or anticipates this kind of crisis - but when things happen, then having kind and responsive hosts is what is needed, and Samantha and Rob really were great.Would recommend this place without reservations.

Above and beyond expectations

Wow from the moment we stepped in the door. Everything we needed was available. The View of the lake and Forrest through the floor to ceiling window was stunning. I would definitely want to return.

Home away from home 🏡

This property is in a great location and has all the amenities you could need. They really thought of everything. I went with my family (parents, sister, brother in law) for weekend of June 21st. We unfortunately were hit with a storm so it rained all weekend and we could not enjoy the outdoors much. But because the house was comfortable we decided to stay and not just drive back home. We had a great time indoors playing board games and making lots of food. Kitchen appliances are top notch and new which was great for us. I hope I can return with better luck with weather next time.

Quiet, Relaxing Getaway

What an absolutely beautiful place. My wife and I spent an extended weekend for our anniversary to get away and relax. My wife loves to cook, and this kitchen was so well thought out, it had everything she needed. The only thing to note was that if you are a light sleeper and sleep in the bedroom on the main floor, the heat pump may wake you up when it kicks on. We wished we could have stayed longer. We hope to be back maybe in the fall or again next winter.

Muskoka Gem

Great getaway place in North Muskoka. Modern cottage with a lovely attention to detail. My friends and I had a wonderful time, enjoying swimming in the lake, foggy morning canoeing, and sipping hot beverages at the fireplace in the evenings. However, there was no mention of bringing portable water to the cottage as the tap water was non-drinkable. Overall, we had a fantastic time and looking forward to coming back again.

The only cottage we’ll be staying at!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at deer lake onyx. On top of the great location and beautiful cottage, everything was well-equipped, from first aid kits to board games. But the hosts’ customer service is what stood out to us the most. We had a big family of 8 people staying here and the hosts were incredibly responsive to our needs. They were kind, friendly and extremely reasonable. They also went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable stay. We absolutely loved the place and this is certainly our go-to cottage from now on.

Hidden Gem on Deer Lake

Samantha, you truly have an absolutely gorgeous one-of-a-kind relaxation station here, on the ever so peaceful and beautiful Deer Lake. So many thank yous for our incredible stay, and no stone was left unturned when it came to having all the necessary amenities at our disposal. We loved everything from the great fire pit bonfires, to hanging out on the dock and watching the beautiful sunsets, and listening to all the fun critters and little chipmunks running around. The cabin itself is visually stunning inside-and-out, and is super bright and airy with a beautiful decor, and we also just loved how it's nestled into the woods. It's without a doubt that we will plan to stay here again!

Gorgeous cottage, Private lakefront property

We just finished a week long rental at this beautiful property. Our family of seven had a wonderful vacation. We all had enough space, and were very comfortable in this absolutely stunning cottage. The privacy at this cottage is wonderful. The lake is beautiful and clean, with lots of good fishing. We loved having use of the water toys. There was always something for someone to use. The cottage amenities were perfect, it was nice to have clean and fresh towels, sheets, and blankets available. We enjoyed wonderful fires at the fire pit at night. Just a small note to be aware that the walk to the lakefront is a slightly steep hill. Luckily, it did not affect us, however, may be a little difficult for anyone with mobility issues. Would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone. None of us wanted to leave. Thank you for sharing this beautiful space with us.

Nice little getaway

The cottage was situated on a quiet part of the lake. We enjoyed sitting on the large covered front porch as well as kayaking around the lake. Lots of wildlife around and it was lovely hearing and seeing the loons. Cottage was open and bright and had everything you needed to make your stay enjoyable!

A piece of heaven.

Absolutely gorgeous property. Could not have asked for more. Cottage was beautiful and had everything you could ask for. Loved it so much that we are hoping to find out who the builder was so we can build ours the same way someday!!! Such a quiet and peaceful lake. The water was warm. Enjoyed jumping off the dock, swimming, canoeing, paddleboarding and kayaking. Would definately book again!!!

Beautiful new house, lovely lake

A lovely new house (maybe too new - no blinds on bedroom windows!). Very quiet, can barely notice the neighbours, and virtually no motor boats. Quite a large, peaceful, lake.
