Delgatie Castle se encuentra tranquilamente en medio de campos y bosques, en una gran finca rural. Tiene una historia larga y a cuadros, que data de 1050 y una vez fue el hogar del fallecido Capitán Hay, un barón feudal. Ahora abierto al público, el castillo ofrece un gran interés para los visitantes, además de la oportunidad de probar deliciosos pasteles caseros en el acogedor salón de té. Symbister Suite se encuentra en el ala norte del castillo y tiene, como era de esperar, todo el estilo y el ambiente de una casa señorial real. Turriff, 3 millas, es el hogar de una serie de actividades e intereses. Pesca en el río, con trucha marrón y salmón disponibles al costo. Puede jugar al golf en cualquiera de los varios campos de 18 hoyos en el área, o disfrutar de un tiempo en un lago para botes o incluso en un putting green. A beautiful relaxing place to stay.

A beautiful relaxing place to stay. Great base to explore Aberdeenshire from with its many castles and gardens. The castle is well worth the visit as is the award winning coffee shop in the castle. If you’re looking for a glimpse into the past it is ideal. Would have loved to stay longer.

We were amazed that we had managed to get an apartment in a castle.

We were amazed that we had managed to get an apartment in a castle. It was such a treat and the bedroom was the height of luxury. We had a parking space near our entrance way. We were greeted by the custodian, Joan, who was a warm and lovely lady. She had left some scones for us and they are frankly the best scones we have ever had. The castle is open to the public and has a tea room so our first day was spent there. The kitchen, although in an historical building is modern and practical. There is plenty to explore in the surrounding area and the coast is only a 25 minute drive. We had a relaxing stay and when we had to finally leave were sad to be departing.

I was delayed and the booking didn’t provide contact info, phone number etc.. so I could not contact them. A name and instructions for obtaining a key was provided. However, there was no email or phone number. I felt bad arriving late and not being able to warn anyone.

Spacious enough accommodation in a lovely setting. Felt aspects of the kitchen area were a bit tired and some utensils + white goods could do with an upgrade + added to, e.g. in a self catering setting a dishwasher is a good way of ensuring dishes are clean, rather than depending on other people's washing standards. A tumble dryer (or washer dryer) would also be good given the British climate. Caretaker/manager was very nice and approachable. She very kindly left in some bread, milk, butter, sausages, bacon, eggs and a very delicious homemade cherry + sultana Bakewell tart. Yum yum. Very peaceful and would definitely go back. Lovely walks + cycles on doorstep, in the form of Delgaty Woods. A very restful retreat. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Very enjoyable stay at Delegate Castle in the Symbister Suite.

Very enjoyable stay at Delegate Castle in the Symbister Suite. The castle itself is very interesting and was used as a family home until the death of Capt Hay . it has a lovely atmosphere. The Laird's kitchen is worth a visit. lovely scones and cakes. It is also a great base for visiting other castles in the area.

We spent October week in the apartment with our two boys (aged 5 and 6) and Granny.

We spent October week in the apartment with our two boys (aged 5 and 6) and Granny. We found the accommodation warm, clean, spacious, well equipped and ghost free. Joan, the manager, was most helpful and ensured our stay was smooth. There are easy woodland walks and cycles from the door, the beautiful Banff coast line 30 mins drive away, a Tesco in Turrif and superb cakes in the Castle cafe. What more do you need? Great stay. Thank you
