6/10
The air conditioning is only available from 9 PM to 6 AM. Outside of those hours, you’ll need to specifically request it—something the hotel leaves out of their description.
Also, be aware of the tourist reserve tax. At check-in, we were told it was 120 pesos per day, but that rate only applies to foreign visitors. As a Mexican national (with valid ID presented), the correct charge should have been 60 pesos. In the end, we paid the accurate amount—60 pesos daily—directly at the entrance to the reserve, not through the hotel.
Transparency matters.
The hotel is located within the reserve, so there are specific guidelines we must follow. This may cause occasional inconvenience.
Beach club and restaurant staff were excellent. Housekeeping was good. Unfortunately, the experience at reception—particularly with Victor—was disappointing. During check-in, he said refused to accompany us to our room, citing the heat outside as a reason to stay in the air-conditioned reception. While he eventually did assist us, the comment felt unprofessional, especially considering the hotel's stated daytime air conditioning restrictions.
