  • Pond Cottage es una encantadora casa de vacaciones independiente de piedra y mazorca de lujo, bellamente amueblada, ubicada en los terrenos de una granja en funcionamiento del siglo XV de 150 acres de hermosos prados pastados por nuestras ovejas y corderos y tres huertos de manzanas muy productivos. La cabaña se encuentra junto a un pintoresco estanque rodeado de árboles y arbustos maduros. La cabaña se encuentra en su propio jardín cerrado con zona de estar y barbacoa y preciosas vistas. La sólida puerta estable de roble lo lleva a la sala de estar de triple aspecto de planta abierta con vigas de roble macizo, persianas de roble, estufa de leña, cómodos sofás, grabadora de TV / DVD, puertas francesas que conducen al jardín, calefacción por suelo radiante, piso de pizarra e impresionante Escalera de roble macizo. La cocina diseñada a medida tiene piso de granito, superficies de trabajo de granito y un encantador comedor de roble. Arriba, debajo de las armaduras de techo a la vista, hay una acogedora sala de estar adicional con reproductor de cd y una hermosa vista del estanque. Hay 2 habitaciones dobles cada una con baño privado.

We stayed a week and found ourselves well-placed for our needs - visits to Dartmoor and Exmoor, the north and south coasts and a couple of National Trust properties. Excellent meal at Frou-frou in Tiverton! Pond Cottage is a lovely place to come back to at the end of the day!Lovely hosts!

Pond cottage is a true peace haven. If you are looking for a relaxing break then this is the place for you. Comfortable cottage with a well equipped kitchen. Just hens and geese for you local neighbours. Renate was a lovely host and let us use her swimming pool. Heavenly after a very hot day.

It was the most picturesque, homely place. We were made to feel so at home, when we arrived a log fire was already going, and we were a little later than expected so Renate unloaded our Morrisons food delivery for us which was so kind. The house was so clean, the gardens were so well kept the whole farm was just gorgeous and Renate gave us a tour too, as well as letting us roam freely - which we all loved especially my two children, 7years and 20months.. they loved being so free and feeding the geese, and exploring the gardens. We will definitely be returning. It was a perfect weekend.

We are truly enjoyed our stay. The location is breathtakingly beautiful and the hosts Renate and John the kindest and most welcoming people. We are hoping to go back to the Pound Cottage in the future.

A tranquil short break with friends

Pond cottage is exactly what we’ve expected. We have a wonderful 3 nights there, surrounded by farm animals and green trees ! Renate the landlady is easily approachable for our needs . Incredible stay at The Pond Cottage .

Great hosts, perfectly quiet location, stunning surroundings & a beautiful cottage with everything you could need. The geese are friendly, the chickens follow you around & the ducks love snacks. Our idea of heaven in Devon.

Loveliest Hosts

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house has a great location and you are also allowed to walk around the hosts' property, which is really extraordinary big. Hosts are very gracious and were also happy to show us around their farm and old house. The tour was very interesting and it was nice to talk to the hosts.

Beautiful place surrounded by nature

Me and my partner had a good stay at the Pond Cottage.The kitchen is extremely well equipped and stocked.Rooms are very tidy and homely feeling. Bathroom is clean and pleasant to use.We didn't explore the surroundings but the small animals around the farm were very pleasant to watch from the house. Being surrounded by nature really brings about peace of mind and heart.Enjoyed the stay tremendously. Thanks again!

Marvellous stay

We had the most wonderful time! Huge thank you to the hosts - they have thought of everything that we could need and are the loveliest of people! The kids were encouraged to explore and learnt lots about all the animals and trees. Perfectly located for the area and everything made our visit so very comfortable

Delightful

Pond cottage was ideallic, surrounded by beautiful countryside and gardens. The facilities were fantastic and the cottage well insulated. Ducks and geese were fun to watch and little squirrels hopping around the garden.

Wonderful relaxing break

We managed to escape for a few days relaxation and Pond Cottage was perfect for us. A beautiful location and an ideal cottage to unwind in front of the log burner. The owners made us feel very welcome and it was lovely to chat - the cottage and farm are very well cared for and a lovely place to be. Thank you for creating such a relaxing place, we look forward to coming back.

A gorgeous peaceful and tranquil retreat in the heart of the Devon countryside. The cottage is very well appointed with two large ensuite bedrooms, a large living room and a large kitchen dining area. It has been restored to a very high standard with custom oak everywhere including the furniture, stair case, shutters etc. Even the skylights have electric controled blinds for sleep in morning. The walls are traditionally plastered and the floors are either large and lovely black flag stones or wide oak boards upstairs. The fireplace is beautiful with a wood burning stove and plenty of dry forewood, perfect for those chilly days or evening. The kitchen is very functional with everything you need to cook large meals including a very nice multi over stove. Beautiful black granite counters complement the hand made oak cabinetry. There is a fridge and seperate freezer, plus a dishwasher.Outside is also lovely; private and south facing outdoor seating with views across the fields, and so quiet. The flock of geese that live in the farm yard are a welcome and only ocasionally noisy aspect of county life and the pond outside has a pair of ducks in residence. Overall it is a lovely place to spend time and our only regret is that we didn't have more time to explore the arboretum that the owers have created on the farm. I thoroughly recomend the cottage and hosts.

Just as expected, middle of no-where, perfect story book cottage, pond, ducks, geese, lambs, chickens. Hosts were great, cottage well equipped, beds comfortable with en-suite in each of the 2 bedrooms. The pool just topped it off, superb, thank you.

Family 2 week stay in August 22

Renate and John were so welcoming and engaging with our two little ones. The pride taken in maintaining their beautiful converted cottage shines through and we instantly felt at home. The surroundings are absolutely stunning, loved and cared for. The icing on the cake for the kids was feeding the ducks everyday (who were often waiting for their next treat) and regular dips in the pool. Could not fault our stay, we all loved it. Thank you both for such a lovely welcoming stay.

Pond cottage

The cottage was stunning. 2 large en suite bedrooms with wonderful beams on the ceiling, a big kitchen/diner and a nice lounge. All this set on a working farm. John and Renata were wonderful hosts and very attentive to every query we had. John even let us help with installing additional posts to support his fantastic tree collection and he showed us a nest if blackbirds in his tractor!
