Beautiful Location

The property is very lovely and quiet. Our kids loved exploring on the beach. Very good communication from the owner. Guests do need to bring in drinking water if staying for several days.

A perfect house for our family group of five adults and two kids. The beach was not as sandy as some, but lots of shells and sand dollars to be found, as well as a very safe place for little kids to play in the water. The only tricky part is that Google maps tries to take you down a road that does not exist to get to the house ... but just follow Heather and Leah's instructions and it is easy! Internet is a little slow but given the delightful remoteness of the house it is well worth that little inconvenience! Thank you!

Beautiful and relaxing!

The property is right on the beach with beautiful views of the water. It was so very quiet and relaxing. We had a family bbq and everything we needed was available from propane for the grill to large bowls. I would definitely stay here again! It is the perfect place for a family retreat.

Pictures don’t do this property justice

The host is great and the home is clean stocked and is set up for up to 10 adults. But the best part is the location- the land this property sits on. You get your own personal bay, wildlife viewing deck, kayak launch, tide pools, and hiking paths. It is very remote and absolutely magical.

Great location and house.

This is our second year visiting this VRBO and it fits our needs perfectly. The kitchen is huge and pretty well stocked. The BBQ grill works great. We loved having a washer and dryer to use. The beds are comfortable with lots of extra bedding if needed. We love the huge long table for dinners, games and puzzles. The house is located down and long drive so we feel safe hanging out in the yard with our street stupid dogs. The view of the water is delightful.Hope to stay again next year!

Great getaway

We enjoyed our stay, loved being by the water. Plenty of room for everyone (4 adults and 6 children). The grandkids enjoyed the beach and smores around the fire pit. We hope to come again!

Good Ladies Getaway

The gorgeous view and privacy made for a lovely stay. The house could have used a once over cleaning wise, but we were very comfortable and really appreciated the water filter. The internet was out the whole stay, but we had good cell service. Definitely would stay again.

Christmas on the Canal

Vacationed and visited on the canal for over 70 years. This is a great place without a highway running right behind it. And not packed in 10 feet from the next house. Quiet and peaceful, just you the water and the wild life.My only suggestion would be a better outside deck surface and wider steps. Very slippery and narrow.

A private nature retreat

Spectacular location, remote and private. A wildlife paradise. Tidal flux incredible. Gorgeous sunrises. Big sky over the water. Stunning clouds. House was cozy, warm and adequate.

Beds were different

We love the Thornedyke Lodge and have been coming for years. It is still great, but the kids (who are cousins) usually sleep in the big room with the queen bed and bunk beds. This time they had taken out the bunk beds. The listing still shows 2 bunkbeds. That was a little disappointing.

Great Family Vacay!

We love coming to this home each summer! The location is remote and beautiful and we explored the shoreline every day. The home is clean, comfortable (it is not fancy) and has generous amenities. The host is responsive and a great communicator. We had such a relaxing and fun time once again staying at Thorndyke Lodge!

Wonderful weekend!!!

What a wonderful place with beautiful views. We loved exploring the beach at low tide and hearing the waves lap against the bank during high tide. We would love to stay here again in the future!
