"Lovely place to stay staff and food were excellent "

"All staff were excellent, super friendly and helpful, I'd booked an attic room but seeing my husband on crutches they immediately swapped us into a first floor room which I think was an upgrade as it had a huge freestanding copper bath and Chesterfield sofa as well as a king (or maybe super king) sized bed. Despite the room not having been planned for use, everything was clean and fully stocked which was impressive. Bed extremely comfy, didn't want to leave! Breakfast being included was great,...

"A pleasant cottage, but there is no access to back garden as 2 very large dogs were there. They also scratch / jump at the back door (in lounge) in the middle of the night! Front garden not as pretty as picture with some dog mess and dogs watching through gate. Lastly boiler is in bedroom so you can hear when it comes on. "

"Beautiful property in lovely countryside. The room was spacious and clean with good facilities provided. The bar was well stocked and the food lovely, although a little pricey, especially the children’s meal! Breakfast was fab with a great choice and cooked to order so was piping hot on arrival. Went to Kielder winter wonderland so this was an ideal stay as only 10mins drive away. Would definitely recommend."

"I was a completely unplanned visitor who trekked the moors at night to reach the Inn. Though the only thing that happened on the moors was fulfilling an American's silly Holmesian fantasy of walking the moors at night, everyone was concerned for my safety and I really appreciated that. My stay was wonderful, the food was really delicious, and everyone with whom I spoke was just up-front and pleasant. I will be back some day and guess where I'll stay?"

"This review considers the amazingly low price we paid (£40), compared to other availability in the area. We requested (and booked) a family room, on arrival, we were given two double rooms opposite each other. Not a problem for our 1 night stay, but it could have been. The rooms were warm and clean, and had been newly decorated, the bedding was clean and crisp. The breakfast was adequate, all self serve, tea, coffee, juices, cereals, packet meats and pastries. "Staff were really lovely and helpful. Room was very clean and quiet, and the hotel was perfectly situated in the centre of Hexham. The only issues were the very few parking spaces available, and the fact we could only park for up to 2hrs with a permit during the day, if there wasn’t any space in the tiny car park. But we loved the hotel itself and would recommend. "
