The cottage of Jaurenne, former renovated farmhouse, is nestled in a small green valley where the Jaurenne stream flows. From this place a little away, you can still discover a region of a thousand wonders: the Perigord.
This cottage is isolated, not overlooked. You will be able to thus benefit from its swimming pool of 10. m by 5m., Its barbecue, its garden furniture. A shelter is also planned to protect your car.
The calm is ensured, you can have your breakfast or your dinner on the terrace near the pool with perhaps the visit of some deer or rabbits curious and shy.
Following a small sunny path you discover the pond also private where you will fish in peace (carp, roach, perch, pike ...) Opportunity for picnics and relaxation near the pond.
The surrounding wooded hills offer their paths for walks filled with the scents of the forest conducive to daydreaming, relaxation, a return to the sources of life.

In the spring, (April-May-June) is the explosion of nature that is to seize for photographers and lovers of walks. Causses, truffle trees, small vineyards, oak, hornbeam and chestnut woods, close to cattle, farms, cereal fields, streams, small winding roads and marked trails (or not!) welcome you in rustling birdsongs.
In the autumn (September-October), after the summer bustle, it's time to (re) discover calm the large sites in optimal conditions. Nature is adorned with shimmering colors and mushrooms appear in the undergrowth wetlands. (Cèpe de Bordeaux, black cep, chanterelles ...).
The truffle, the icon of Périgord, is in winter (January, February).

In addition, Thenon located 3 kms, offers all the classic services you will need: 3 doctors, 2 pharmacies, 1 Carrefour supermarket, 1 mechanic, 2 gas stations, 1 cooperative, 1 DIY store, 1 office Computer ...

Zomervakantie 2025 in Jaurenne

Het inchecken verliep goed nadat we Yvan een berichtje hadden gestuurd dat we aangekomen waren. Het huisje staat op een prachtige locatie omgeven door mooie natuur. Het zwembad was fantastisch, evenals de visvijver voor onze vissers. Er zijn heel wat karpers gevangen!Het interieur van het huisje is gedateerd en op sommige plaatsen ook echt aan vervanging toe. Er is in de omgeving veel te doen, de omgeving is prachtig en het is geen straf om een stukje te rijden naar een activiteit toe.

Thenon Farmhouse

For us this holiday gite is perfect, private pool, not overlooked and a well stocked private fishing lake. The pool is lush and a shaded patio very welcome due to extreme heat during 3 weeks spent there.The decor is is a little outdated and rustic, however all we needed was provided, lots of crockery and kitchen utensils with a dishwasher. Washing machine and ironing board included was very convenient. at first did not find a hairdrier but found it in the drawer of the bathroom cupboard. owners were very discreet which we appreciated. the peaceful and tranquility was fantastic as were views. 5 min drive to lovely restaurant by a lake and Thenon Town only 10 min away, market day on Tuesdays and a convenient well stocked supermarket. lots of lovely towns a short dive away full of shops, markets and restaurants and a whole manner of things to do. I can honestly state that this property offers value for money in a beautiful area.

Très bien

Très bon séjour. Gîte très calme, en pleine nature, aucun vis-à-vis. Maison joliment décorée, et très bien équipée. Magnifique piscine de 5m x 10m. Etang privé à proximité, très poissonneux notamment en friture. Hote sympathique. Bref, de bonnes vacances!

Schöner Natur belassener ort

Die Lage ist sehr schön, wenn man in der Natur sein will und kein Tourismus möchte! Das Haus ist renovierungsbedürftigt hat aber alles was man braucht und ist funktionsfähig! Der Pool ist sehr sauber und das Wasser klar! Der Besitzer ist sehr nett und freundlich! Wir hatten leider Pech mit dem Wetter da es Dauer Regen gab aber sonst war es schön

le paradis pour les pècheurs qui ont envie de calme , de nature et d'un étang dans lequel , certes , il n'est pas aisé de pêcher mais quel régal de cotoyer de si belles carpes et de les remettre en liberté dans ce cadre magnifique. Un hote soucieux de votre confort a complété ces merveilleuses vacances entre amis . Nous sommes en pourparler pour y retourner

Personne très accueillante et disponible sans être envahissant . Très respectueux ! Maison spacieuse vieillissante mais confortable ( nous ne venons pas non plus en Dordogne pour rester enfermé dans le gîte ). Piscine parfaite ! Stunning, tranquil location. Paradise!

We had a wonderful 10 days at Yvan’s beautiful farmhouse. It’s fantastically private and only the sounds of the birds to accompany you. The pool is lovely and the views across the valley at the top of the meadow above the pool are heavenly. Yvan was very responsive and attentive to any needs we had. Look forward to staying again some day :) Nous avons passé 10 jours merveilleux dans la belle ferme d'Yvan. C'est incroyablement privé et seuls les sons des oiseaux vous accompagnent. La piscine est belle et la vue sur la vallée en haut de la prairie au-dessus de la piscine est paradisiaque. Yvan était très réactif et attentif à tous les besoins que nous avions. J'ai hâte d'y retourner un jour :)

Séjour en Dordogne.

Séjour conforme à la description et à notre attente. Isolé et sans vis à vis, en campagne au sein d’un lieu dit. Le Village et ses commodités ne sont pas loin. Le calme reposant et le bienfait de la généreuse piscine. Sans oublier notre hôte, discret et fort sympathique.

Secluded and peaceful

We stayed as a family of 4 for 2 weeks in August 2021. The property is traditional and rustic, but clean and has all the facilities needed. Dishwasher, washing machine, cooking utensils, etc. The electric fan was very useful during the warmer second week. The pool is a fabulous size and kept very clean. A brick built Bbq is fantastic for outdoor eating along with the covered seating area next to the pool. The private pond a short walk away was amazing for us, we carp fish at home and we caught some great sized fish during our stay. The house is ideally situated and we visited Périgueux, Bergerac, Sarlat and Brive-la-Gaillarde during our stay, along with other smaller villages, markets, château, etc. Yvan is a lovely host, despite the language difficulties, Google translate app was very useful! We both tried with our French and English! Thank you Yvan for a lovely holiday, you are very lucky to live in a beautiful part of the world. Lucie, Dan and Family.

Logis très agréable

Maison tout à fait confortable, très bien équipée ; piscine, calme, vue, nombreuses possibilités d'excursion créent toutes les conditions pour rendre ce séjour très agréable et parfaitement reposant. Un grand merci à Monsieur Catinel pour son accueil très aimable, efficace et discret ! Je recommande chaleureusement. PS : ce que la photo de façade ne montre pas, c'est la tonnelle, qui a été ajoutée après qu'elle ait été prise, ce qui est un vrai plus et permet d'être dehors à l'ombre.

TRES AGREABLE !!!

Très belle location conforme aux photos. L'environnement et la vue sont magnifiques et c'est très calme. Un étang privé très joliment aménagé complète agréablement cette location. Les propriétaires sont adorables, toujours à votre écoute et votre service et d'une discrétion hors pair ! Très heureuse de ce séjour ! Je recommande !
