Relax in Nature's Beauty: Private Log Cabin w/ two Spacious, Open Living Areas

Nestled in the forest our cozy (yet spacious 2400sqft) well-built three-bedroom log cabin boasts panoramic Blue Ridge mountain views. It is located just outside of Lovingston VA,, the county seat of Nelson County, about halfway between Lynchburg (Liberty University) and Charlottesville (University of Virginia), Virginia.
The cabin is sited four miles off route 29 through some of the most beautiful farmland in the rolling hills of the Virginia Blueridge mountains. The final approach is a long (~300yd), steep, curving gravel drive past a small serene pond and meadow (we call it "the stairway to heaven") guarantees tranquility away from city noise and lights. This feature also serves as your own private hiking trail which can easily be extended by simply continuing along the scenic rural gravel access road for miles in either direction.

Upon arriving up at the cabin parking area, you will pass our large campfire just up the slate stairs at the forests edge to the left with the front porch straight ahead of you. There you will find for your enjoyment a double swing, two rocking chairs, and a large hammock. The front door opens into the spacious open living area with a wood burning stove, ample kitchen with island (seats two) and separate dining area that seats six comfortably.
The French doors open onto the 200 sq. ft. upper deck within the forest which offer mountain views in the fall and winter. The warm motif of this log cabin continues throughout the two roomy upstairs bedrooms and the third bedroom downstairs. The great room is host to a large wood stove, furnished with a queen-size sleeper sofa, 50" plasma tv, and game table that offers your choice of cards, checkers, chess or backgammon. Yoga mats, blocks, straps, and jump rope are available.
The cabin is less than 30 minutes from downtown Charlottesville, VA, 35 min to Wintergreen Resort, and close to renowned VA wineries (see Monticello wine trail in photos), breweries, distilleries, and the breathtaking hiking trails of the Blue Ridge Mountains, The Shenandoah Valley and Appalachian Trail are within a short drive.

Hi Michael,

We had an absolutely amazing time at your beautiful home! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at peace. The house was spotless, cozy, and perfectly situated for everything we wanted to do. My family loved exploring the local wineries, distilleries, breweries, hiking trails, waterfalls, and restaurants — there was never a dull moment!
But what truly made this trip special was the serenity of the home itself. Waking up each morning to nothing but peace and quiet was a gift. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge between our adventures.
We were in town for my son's graduation from Liberty University, which was nothing short of spectacular. Having such a wonderful place to come back to each day made the entire experience even more memorable.
We did have issues with VRBO and/or Expedia as well, so it's not just you. Thank you for sharing your space with us — we hope to return again soon!

Beautiful secluded cabin. Well equipped kitchen. Perfectly furnished, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms. We enjoyed the peace and quiet as well as the wildlife and stargazing. The hosts were very responsive and easy to work with. We stayed over the Christmas week and the Christmas tree and decorations were a nice surprise. A+ we highly recommend.

We had such a wonderful stay at this cabin! It is absolutely beautiful inside and out, and in such a great location. A little bit remote - but still close enough to all of the breweries and wineries we wanted to visit! Everything was clean and the place felt very cozy! It is also extremely well stocked with kitchen supplies. We brought a lot of our own, but the cabin had everything we didn’t bring! There is tons of space inside the cabin and the host was very friendly and responsive. We would definitely recommend staying here!

Fantastic cabin tucked away on a mountain, felt right at home with our two young children. The host Michael was so welcoming and easy to communicate with. Pictures don’t do this place justice, very spacious and beautiful. GREAT PRICE!
"We were seeking an escape to the mountains for our family during spring break. Michael’s cabin exceeded our expectations. It was private, had amazing views, and provided us with every modern day accommodation. It was a little far to get to with a long, windy, narrow driveway but we were close to everything we wanted to experience. The surrounding land is very steep and must be explored carefully, but my son loved the little pond on the property. We only reached out once and Michael was immediately responsive and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and stay!"
