"Third time staying here due to the positive previous experiences. The positive streak continued with a great room featuring a fantastic air-conditioning unit which kept me cool in the June heat. A wonderful workout ensued in their very well-equipped gym set up. This was followed by a powerful shower and I went to dine nearby. Had a great night's sleep before a well-cooked breakfast got my day started perfectly. Can't wait to come back."

"Stayed at the Windmill before and accommodation is excellent. Had 2 wonderful evening meals. Pet friendly. Only let down on the last day was a boiler failure which meant no hot water and only a dribble of cold water. So no shower I’m afraid! Had to boil kettle to get hot water for a wash of sorts. Staff very apologetic but couldn’t sort the issue before we had to leave."

"Lovely golf course and breakfast was great but slow. Room was very dated and the bed had a huge dip in the middle. Very outdated and an old TV so couldn't even put on Netflix and relax."

"Our room was lovely. Spacious, clean and had all the necessaire and more! Staff very friendly and helpful. Great cocktails at the bar and we could enjoy the outside space which is stunning! Breakfast also great value for money! Definitely would recommend!"

"Lovely staff, excellent restaurant and pub. Unfortunately, my room (The Periwinkle Room) had a not so good smell. Combined with no air-conditioning it made my stay fairly unpleasant and it was very hot inside the room. There is a fan located high attached to the wall but it really didn’t help much at all."

"Always stay here the night before travelling on Le Shuttle. 30 mins to the terminal. Large car park immediately adjacent to the hotel. Reception staff always welcoming. Rooms spacious with an excellent shower. Only downside is the range of services next door at the service station. OK if you like McDonalds! Improvement with Leon when you can navigate the ordering process! Good news is that there are some good pubs nearby with restaurant attached. Really good value - usually half price...

"The room has no lock on the door; locks are only available outside the two rooms. There are many flies in the hallway, and they are appearing throughout the rooms. There is a lot of dust everywhere. In addition, although we were given the Wi‑Fi password, we’re unable to connect."

"Stayed for three nights over Xmas. The walk from the pub to the accommodation was across a muddy unpaved carpark. Access to the room was via a combination door lock and privacy in the room afforded by blinds at the door ,room windows. Unfortunately there was no internal lock on the door and gaps in the blinds afforded a view into the room from outside. The room was cold on arrival and took hours to warm up. "I would like to ask for a full refund really but I know I won't get one. We were left in property on our own and told to lock up when we come and go. The sheets on the beds were dirty. Bathroom dirty. Tea and coffee in the room but no milk. We left at half 4 in the morning with little or no sleep at all. Terrible place "

"Little hidden gem! Absolutely stunning property. As soon as you walk through the door it’s like stepping back in time. Stunning decor with lots of character and interesting items to look at around the property. Host was warm and welcoming when I arrived. I will definitely be visiting this hotel again and have already started recommending to friends."

"The hotel was OK, but for the price I felt the room was dated compared to other budget hotels. No air con in our room, light switch controlled ALL lights in the room, so no bedside reading light which is really annoying when there's two or more of you sharing a room. TV channel options seemed to be hit and miss. Other than that breakfast was good and staff were very helpful and pleasant. In terms of location it was ideal, but if I was less fussy about location there are probably better value...

"We loved staying at the Royal Oak . Would go again. Wonderful Sunday lunch. Staff couldn’t do enough for you. Only thing’s needs to be worked on , Our lovely modern room had nowhere to sit & dry your hair .. Only needs a mirror . No draws to put cloths in , only four coat hangers . No shower gel or shampoo. Just a bit of hand gel at the bottom of a dispenser. Just things you tend to expect. The pub is well situated, locals very friendly. Lots of things to do in the area."

"The spa is the only thing that saves this hotel as without it it would be a very poor hotel. Rooms are very dated, our bed was like a camp bed very uncomfortable. Breakfast in Sage took an hour to be served and it wasn’t even busy. Give staying guests at least the option to go get yoghurt and pastries etc. while they wait for the breakfast cooked meal, having to wait for everything to be served is really old hat these days.
