Cabaña Terlingua de Sherri con vista al arroyo Terlingua

Sherri's Terlingua Cabin es un lugar maravilloso para relajarse y una excelente base de operaciones para explorar la zona de Big Bend. Tendrás acceso rápido y fácil al Parque Nacional Big Bend, al Río Grande, al Pueblo Terlingua y al Parque Estatal Big Bend Ranch. La cabaña está a poca distancia (1/3 milla) del famoso La Kiva Bar and Grill.

Disfruta de todas las comodidades del hogar. Hay un dormitorio con una cama de tamaño completo, un altillo (vigile su cabeza - es un techo bajo) con dos camas individuales, un baño, una sala de estar y una cocina pequeña.

El área de la sala de estar tiene un futón de tamaño completo que puede distinguirse como una cama. Hay un pequeño televisor con reproductor de DVD incorporado. Tenemos algunos DVD. Siéntase libre de traer el suyo propio, pero probablemente pasará más tiempo en el porche mirando las estrellas y Terlingua Creek.

La cocina tiene una nevera, un microondas, un horno tostador, una cafetera, un pequeño horno de convección y una cafetera. La estufa funciona, pero el horno no funciona. También hay platos, cubiertos, vasos para su uso. Ollas y sartenes también se proporcionan.

El baño es pequeño pero tiene una ducha, inodoro y lavabo con agua corriente caliente.

La cabina se enfría y calienta con dos sistemas de aire acondicionado mini split.

La cabaña Terlingua de Sherri está ubicada en un acantilado sobre una sección alimentada por manantiales de Terlingua Creek. La mayoría de las veces solo hay un pie o dos de agua en esta sección del arroyo. Pero cuando llueve puede convertirse en un torrente furioso en el cañón debajo de la cabaña. Ten cuidado cerca del borde del acantilado. El suelo puede cambiar peligrosamente e inesperadamente.

Sin mascotas. No se permiten niños menores de 12 años en la cabina.

  • The Rio Grande River winds 12 miles down Santa Elena Canyon in Big Bend National Park, Texas. When the water is high you can come down the 1,500 foot walled canyon. With less water flowing, guides take you 3 to 4 miles up the canyon with some spots having to portage. But take it all in stride because the views are breathtaking. I recommend Big Bend River Tours. You might get lucky and have the guides that take you a half mile up a side canyon. An excellent day excursion in the out of the way national park.

Okay accommodations

Good location but small (especially shower stall), problems with A/C in bedroom twice but call to "help" number solved the problem. Need written instructions to fix problem available onsite. Comfortable bed, good size refrigerator, problem with ants at kitchen sink area.

Perfect!

3 adults with 2 separate sleeping areas was just what we needed and cheaper than 2 motel rooms elsewhere. Kitchen cooking facility and frig allowed us to cook own meals saving money. Great location for park and tours. Highly recommend. Only suggestion to keep loft sleep comfortable, keep ac on and ceiling fan reversed to draw cool air up. We would stay here again.

The house is located on a somewhat secluded, small knob next to the Terlingua creek. We sat every evening on the porch to first watch the black vultures settle in a big tree in front of the porch, then bats, and then the stars. Unfortunately, during some nights a neighbor a few 100 yards away had a bright light turned on all night that made star watching difficult.The interior of the tiny house is quite old and could need some updates but we found the Queen bed comfortable. The dining table is quite wobbly. We did not test the upstairs beds.It rained two nights and when it did there was water seepage through the bedroom windows and dripping onto the bed. I informed the property manager/owner about this. It was not a showstopper, quite an interesting experience .All in all, we liked our stay but did not entirely agree with the quality of the interior of the house.

Sherri’s Terlingua Cabin and Big Bend

Myself and two others recently completed a 5 night stay at Sherri’s Terlingua Cabin and had a wonderful time. Not only was the property clean, comfortable, and stocked with all the key necessities, it was within reasonable proximity to all of the trails we had planned to hike in Big Bend National Park, and then some! We also appreciated the hosts' commitment to minimizing food waste, as they noted that they will donate unused/unopened foods, and will keep items such as condiments for future guests. Overall, if we ever return to the area this would 100% be our accommodations of choice. Thanks again to the hosts for a fantastic week!

Stay at Cabin

The cabin was just the right size for my daughter and me. It was much larger on the inside than it looked. It was a really convenient spot for the sites including Big Bend NP, Terlingua Ghost Town, and Big Bend Ranch State Park. We had to conserve on water because of desert conditions but directions were given on checkin and we had no problems. We had trouble understanding directions for the AC so didn’t use it. Thenights were pleasant with opening the windows to the desert air. By the end of our5 day stay daytime temps had gone from nineties to seventies. Kitchen was well equipped Sufficient for the two of us. We’re nature lovers do enjoyed the morning birds and the occasional owl hoot.

Expensive Tiny House

I guess it was peak season for Big Bend, but 300 per night (roughly, including all of the various fees) seemed like a crazy amount for this little house, which was just off the main road and nestled next to an emergency response building and what looked like a bunch of factories or machine shops. Giant trucks went by regularly. The proximity to Terlingua and Big Bend were the best things about the place. The double bed was comfortable, it was air-conditioned, and it had all the basics. Otherwise, some of the furniture was worn, the spaces seemed cramped, and the showers were lukewarm and short because of the ongoing drought. The place is ok, but definitely nothing special. Especially for the price, personally, I’d look for a nicer place.

Great cabin, great location

Sherri’s cabin was as advertised and perfect for our trip to Big Bend. The cabin was well equipped for our stay and very clean. It is also perfectly located for access to the park and near some very tasty restaurants. We would definitely stay at this cabin on our next visit to the park.

location was quite accessible to the major scenic features and hikes. The accommodations worked well for the three of us. Few restaurants offered non-Mexican food, and not all were open but the facility had everything needed for easy cooking, and a good grocery store was available nearby. Sitting on the porch after our busy days were the best.

4 day stay

Loved the property. The beds were very comfortable, the location was a bit out of town but a short 5 minute drive to Terlingua. We loved setting up our camp chairs outside each night and stargazed. We had a wonderful time, thank you.

Perfect Big Bend Base Camp

This was the perfect cabin for our small family. It was cozy with great views of the stars at night but not too far from restaurants and shops. Everything we needed was waiting for us inside. Our son loved the creek and the loft. Highly recommend.

Amazing

This cabin was perfect for our trip. Check in was so easy and the property was accurate compared to the listing. The beds were super comfortable. The shower is a little short, fine for me but a little difficult for my husband. Super cute inside. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and looking at the stars. Convenient location to restaurants in town and BBNP. If we return, we plan to stay here again!
