Large cabin in Ouray County, easy access, lots of room to roam.

STR-2024-066 This cabin is the perfect getaway! This is a one-story home (1,600 sq ft) with a full kitchen, ready to cook to your heart’s content with all new appliances. This cabin has been just recently updated with new flooring and carpet throughout the home. Out back is a propane grill and a gas fire table for gatherings in the fresh mountain air.
Bed setup: The master bedroom has a queen bed, bedroom 2 has a queen bed, bedroom 3 has two twin beds, and also available is a sleeper sofa in the living room.
Located between Ouray and Ridgway, just off of Hwy 550, Brown Bear Cabins offer a quiet retreat, just out of town. Take a stroll to the Ouray KOA, for breakfast or dinner at their restaurant (please contact them for hours).
Ride your bikes to Ridgway on County Road 23, straight from the cabin. Enjoy the open road with views of the ranches with cattle, calves, horses, and foals. The views are incredible, there is not much, more peaceful, than this.
You may choose, on another day (or the same day) to ride your bikes to Ouray, again straight from the cabin. Taking County Road 23 to County Road 17 is the best way to see much more of Ouray. Take a break in Ouray to shop or have a bite to eat, then turn around and head back to the cabin (mostly all downhill, at this point), riding along the Uncompahgre River, life is so good!

This was a beautiful large cabin with everything we needed. Looking out the breakfast nook windows, we could see the neighboring horses and a beautiful snow-covered mountain in the background. The hosts did a wonderful job!

Great location between Ouray and Ridgway. Easy and quick access to anywhere in the area- 6 to 10 minute drive to many hikes hot springs shops and restaurants. Felt comfortable with a group of 6. Really enjoyed making some home cooked meals in the fully equipped kitchen. Timely communication with host Tara. Would book again!

This cabin was perfect for our family reunion this past week! Everything we needed was in this cabin! It was super clean and very comfortable! Gorgeous views from the backyard, which was very relaxing as you could hear the river flowing. Host was very friendly and accommodating! Can't wait to come back next summer!

Roomy cabin close to Ouray

Spacious cabin right off of Hwy 550. About 7 minutes north of Ouray. We enjoyed our stay here. We ended up buying a box fan in town at the hardware store because it was pretty hot the first few days. There’s a portable AC unit in the living room that helps quite a bit. If you are picky about pillows, bring your own. The ones provided were pretty flat. We had a great stay here.

Hands down best stay in Ouray!

The property is perfect, right off the highway, easy to find, beautiful yard. We traveled with 2 trucks both pulling trailers and this property has ample room! Will stay here again!

Cabin at Ouray

Nice and friendly owner, spacious , comfortable and clean place. Not very modern, it could use some new pots and pans in the kitchen if guests are cooking their own meals. Outdoor grill with nice and quiet backyard. Washer and dryer available for free, even detergent was provided! Close to Orvis Hot Springs snd hiking trails. Good location if someone is looking for a quiet out of town and tourists place. We enjoyed 2 nights ,there with my friends and family! Thanks Tara for being a nice host!

Beautiful property and great location

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful property! The house was perfectly suited for our family of six, offering plenty of space and comfort for everyone. The open living areas and spacious bedrooms made it easy for us to relax and enjoy our time together without feeling crowded. The location was simply ideal for our outdoor adventures with fantastic hiking trails and fishing just minutes away. The house itself was well-equipped with everything we needed and more. The kitchen had all the amenities for cooking up our favorite meals after a day of exploring, and the large dining area was perfect for family dinners. Overall, this property exceeded our expectations and made for a memorable family vacation. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a spacious, comfortable home with easy access to both hiking and fishing.

Refreshing and Relaxing

My family of 6 enjoyed our two night stay outside of Ouray. It was very convenient to Ridgeway and Ouray. The scenery was lovely with the two horses in the meadow, and the short walk to the river offered a great spot to relax. Text communication with the owner was exceptional. She went above and beyond.

Girls Getaway

The setting is a cabin tucked in the valley of Colorado's Little Switzerland with magnificent views in every direction. There are horses in the green pasture and snow caps in the mountains. We enjoyed watching the owner irrigate and work in the fields as the black lab dog with white tipped feet played at his side. The cabin is knotty pine and decorated in a wilderness theme. Mom loved her coffee, a book, and a blanket by the fire in the livingroom fireplace. Then there was shopping and tours for us girls in the mountain town of Ouray. Family Get-Together

Tara’s cabin was a wonderful place to meet, relax and explore these beautiful surroundings by our adult family members. Tara’s cabin was home away from home, beautifully appointed and equipped with everything that one would need. It was larger than expected, with comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen and great hot water showers. Loved to be able to barbecue and to enjoy relaxing evenings on the patio with a fire pit table. Great location by cafes, eateries, markets and access to nearby destinations. All of us thank you Tara for the wonderful accommodations!

A Great Place

We much enjoyed staying at Brown Bear Cabins. It was clean and comfortable and Tara went above and beyond to serve us. It's a great place to stay to visit Ouray and SE Colorado.
